this is just a perfect beer. beautifully balanced, with just enough bready malt to give it a touch of heft, a mild floral noble hop bite, and a perfectly prickly, crisp finish. all day, every day. that's what this beer is made for. and i would be happy to indulge - prost!

The colour is pale yellow; the liquid clear. The two finger head is white and compact and it sinks to a thick lid leaving no lacing on the glass.

The smell is fresh with bitter hops, sweet cereals and a hint of butter in the background.

The taste is quite bitter with very clean notes of pilsner malt, noble bitter hops, sweet müsli cereals and a touch of minerals. Light to medium body. The aftertaste is clean with sweet dough/French loaf, and floral hops. The finish is mild with sweetness and bitter hops (clean like hop extract).

The carbonation is strong; the many small bubbles tickles the tongue. The liquid is semi-smooth.

A solid lager. Bitterer than the average München helles, but not as caramel-malty as the standard Dortmunder Export.

This beer is exactly what it claims to be. Wurzig und mild which means spicy and mild. Pours clear golden yellow with a creamy white head that lasts too long because I have to drink it. Lovely malt nose with a kiss of honey and hops herbal to peek out from the background. Taste is mild but spicy with herbal hop. dry finish, not bitter and I will have six more please.

Appearance: Clear, golden color with two fingers of white head that fades slowly with bubbly lacing.

Aroma: Very classic lager aroma - slightly grainy malt and faint noble hops.

Taste: Crisp, slightly grainy malt up front, sharp bite from the carbonation, mild floral hops and a fairly clean finish.

The Rest: A prototypical lager here, balanced, highly drinkable, quite good.

From the 11.2 oz bottle in a snifter. This fine dortmunder pours a clear golden color with a nice head of white dissipating foam that settles to a thick ring, thin layer, and light lacing. Nose of pilsner malts, apples, subtle honey, and light grains. Flavors follow the nose with honey and subtle yeast notes on the front and middle of the taste, subtle grain notes hit on the rear with a touch of apple and finish off with a subtle herbal hop. Balanced and delicious. Nice mouth feel, refreshing and well rounded with a lightly sweet subtly bitter aftertaste. Excellence from Germany.

-Pours a clear straw-golden with a big foamy white head which quickly dissipates
-almost no carbonation visible
-really spicy,honey,floral,slightly grassy
-Follows the nose plus a herbal note
-very sweet for an Export
-High carbonation,light-medium body
Differs from other Exports with its sweetness and bigger spicy note
Good overall.

A: The beer is crystal clear yellow in color and has a light to moderate amount of carbonation. It poured with a finger high bright white head that died down, leaving a thin head covering the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of biscuity malts are present in the nose along with some hints of grassy hops.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste has mild flavors of biscuit malts with hints of grassy hops and faint bits of grapes. A slight amount of bitterness is present.
M: It feels light-bodied and clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. A tough of dryness becomes noticeable as the beer warms up.
O: This beer is easy to drink and has a good balance between the mild flavors of malts and hops.

Appearance - Light amber, cloudy. Half a finger of head.

Smell - Really pretty weird. Not what I was expecting at all--very sweet smell almost like blueberries or elderflower. Not bad.

Taste - Sweet on the uptake with a lingering smooth sweetness with little else fighting to take its place.

Mouthfeel - An odd menthol-y coolness that lingers across the tongue. Not what I was expecting at all, but added an interesting quality to the experience, overall.

Overall - Not bad overall. Very drinkable. Sweet and slightly malty, but there are better out there.

11.2 oz foil capped bottle poured into a pub-style pint.

Pale straw with 1 finger of creamy white head. Excellent clarity with light carbonation and subtle yeast sediment dancing about.

Golden apple and sweet Pilsner malts.

Follows the nose. Golden apple and Pilsner malts offering a soft graininess. Well balanced floral hoppiness.

Medium-light bodied, clean, smooth, and refreshing with a light bitterness.

Delicate while keeping a modest bitterness. A nice Dortmunder that is mighty quaffable.

500ml bottle

A- Bright gold, good clarity. Healty, one finger head, shows good retention and lacing

S- Grainy malts, with a slight soapy, sweet feel. Nice grassy bitterness on the back of things

T- Pretty much what the smell suggested. Slightly crisp, grainy/crackery malts, with a very mild fruity/floral sweetness developing on the palate. Pretty strong and bitter on the grassy hops side (and by strong i mean compared to most german helles), with a clean, refreshing finish and aftertaste

M- Light to medium body, decently smooth. Carbonation is definitely too low though maybe it was just an issue wih this one bottle

O- Nice helles, nice overall balance and drinkability. Good for some refreshment

500ml bottle served in a tulip glass. Enjoyed with friends @ Mr. Beer, Vitória - ES. Nice Brazilian beershop chain.

A: Pours a clear golden yellow color forming a medium aired bubbled white head. Medium retention and some lacings left in the glass

S: Sweet and grainy. Notes so grassy hops. Yeasts

T: Slightly sweet upfront. Very malty beer. Yeasts and a nice crispy hop bitterness background. Grassy. A little bit metallic. Overall is dry and mild bitterness

M: A light but smooth body. Medium to low carbonation. Very grainy aftertaste with some grassy hoppy bitterness

O: Very drinkable and refreshing beer. Good quality German Helles

My 3rd Riegele helles of the night. 500ml bottle. Mindestens haltbar bis: 09.02.12.

It is a bit lighter than the lesser abv Export but slightly darker than the Ur-Hell. It is a bright gold with a white head that leaves some okay lacing.

The smell is fruity and doughy, almost a mix of the previous two.

I feel the flavor is the most robust. It carries a decent hoppines but also a decent sweet maltiness.

It is on par with the others.

A: Thin greyish yellow color. Quickly dissipating head with large bubbles.

S: Woody and sappy malts, grassy hops.

T: Surprisingly sweet malts, but that's not to say overly sweet. Definitely within a pleasant range. Slightly tangy hops.

M: Slightly astringent, yet relatively soft.

O: Decent beer.

330ml bottle. Tumbler glass. From my notes –dec´12. Pale yellow color. Clear appearance. White, large size bubbled, froth. Quickly dissipated crown. Grainy, slightly malty aromas with grassy notes. Flavors are as expected from aromas. Light to medium body. Moderate carbonation. Grassy & floral hops overwhelm malts in the middle & linger into a dry bitter finish. Drinkable & correct, even though the overall results quite flat.
