pretty classic pils here, i like the name, czech style and definitely european, noble hops and crackery bready dusty old world grain, the yeast is right, its all here, but this isnt their best lager, something about it made it less tidy and drinkable than i thought it would be, maybe a little more grain forward than it needs to be, maybe its the water chemistry, maybe the early onset saaz bitterness, im not sure, but its not as refreshing as i expected a beer that calls out summer drinking in its name to be. that said, i also like it being more old world and authentic, i dont need dumbed down beer in this style. ever so slightly richer tone to this, brassy almost, good clarity from the tap, average white head, fine carbonation, finishing dryness, and medium body for the style, none of this throws it off at all. the aroma is slightly nutty, just a touch sweet in the center to me, light honey, dried flowers, and a good dose of noble hops, dried lime and spiciness to me. its a bit more grassy in the flavor, well bitter, and fresh enough tasting, just a little more malt flavor lingering than there needs to be, its not delicate beer. the yeast is doughy and drying and works well with the grain, but it too is quite flavorful. i thought this would be a bit more of a mindless ripper, so i like that it brings a little more to the table, but its also not quite as dialed in overall as i anticipated it would be. good not great to me.
