Crystal clear golden yellow brew with long-lasting foam in the GameCraft Pilsner glass. Aroma is slightly funky cereal. Pleasant spritzy and light mouthfeel. Taste is resiny and fruity. It's actually quite bitter long into the aftertaste. This is a bolder sort of Pilsner, more like the American ones with big hops. In this case it's just too much bitterness on top of the persistently sweet taste. From the 500 ml bottle purchased on the West Coast. The Best By date is 08/08/25.

Clear, golden body; fair carbonation; thick head, white and dense, very long lasting; soft patches of lingering foam inside the glass. Very inviting nose; hints of biscuit and bread crust; mild floral sweetness; vague earthy spiciness. The taste builds off the smell; bread and biscuit malt backbone; mildly herbal and peppery hop presence; suggestion of lemongrass; bold yet balanced hop bitterness. Medium-heavy body; velvety; mild, tingling dryness overall, offset with a bit of residual sugar stickiness.

This pilsner comes across as very flavorful with fantastic looks and a very fine mouthfeel. It seems a little heavier with the mouthfeel than a lot of pilsners yet remains quite drinkable. This has been a very pleasant surprise to come across another pilsner originating from Germany. Damn good!

ABV: 5.2%; pouring temperature: 41.8 °F; bottling info: best before 06.08.26

Copenhagen 12/9 2020. 50 cl bottle from Mikkeller Web-shop. Yellow label made out to look like old pergament with Schönramers coat of arms.

Pours clear, pale yellow with a medium-sized, white head. Stable. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.

Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, malty odor of corn, cardboard and bread. Strong notes of fresh grass and citrus. A bit sharp.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a bitter undercurrent. Semi-dry finish.

A bit on the sweet side for a Pilsner.

16.9 oz bottle best before 08/08/25 into a tall Pils glass.
L: SRM 3 pours a slightly straw light yellow caramel color with steady carbo, a soft white 1/4" head that goes frothy, random light lacing.
S: Bready, haullertau hops, a fruity note, pastry dough.
T: Gently sweet malts, a slightly fruity hop bite, pastry dough, a hint of white grape, distant pear. A touch of lemon/grapefruit zest develop a linger.
F: Lightly crisp medium-light bodied mouthfeel that gets smooth with a fairly long moderately dry finish.
O: A gorgeous tasting perfectly balanced German Pils. Slightly fruity with zest and has a harmonic and savory malt presence. It is overpriced but is outstanding in its style.

De OkassionalBeer. En copa de hefe de Bavaria. Con almendras. Jugando a Queen Wish. Pilsener bien hecha, que se bebe con facilidad aunque quizás le falte un pelín de cuerpo para hacer que me resulte lo suficientemente interesante como para repetirla

On tap at Blackback Pub in Waterbury, VT.

This one pours a clear golden yellow color, with a small foamy head off Lukr, and lots of lacing.

There’s some herbal hops on the nose, spicy but not overly bitter, with some nutty and bready malts to it.

This is really solid, especially poured well off the Lukr at Blackback. There’s a really nice floral and herbal hop character to this – invoking the feeling of a meadow in fall. There’s biscuity, and bready malt notes, too – it’s a very well balanced pilsner, with nothing out of place.

This is lighter bodied, but slightly creamy, and very, very drinkable.

Not much to say about this one other than it’s a pretty much spot on German pilsner.

Poured from the 500 ml bottle, with a BB date of 10/08/23 into the test glass
A - Forsythia in bloom yellow color, beautiful clarirty, carbonation is steady, feeding a thin white cap.
Lacing however is indulgent french masterwork.
S - Grain forward with lots of Pilsner malt character, the hops add a grassy and slight lemon/citrus snap
T - All the aromatics with a bit more flavor of the hops, snappy ever so slight citrus and a hint of white grape skin.
M - Delicate, on the palate, with a medium body, crisp and dry. Hits all the high notes
O - A very good Pils from the heart of the style. This offering is just that good. Worth seeking out

And here we are: Raul with an authentic German Pilsner, and an authentic German Pilsner with Raul. It’s definitely not a date with Alicia Schmidt; and regardless, there probably wouldn’t be another rendezvous after the first. S. Pils is basically a good night out with a chick that doesn’t smell like your weird aunt. And I’m cool with that.
