The selection at this relatively new Whole Foods is similar to what's found at other LA area WF stores. However, with the exception of a decent selection of Belgians, the selection is more limited than what's on-hand at the Woodland Hills shop. They do seem to have Abbaye de Rocs on a regular basis, which in itself warrants a decent score for any shop.

This Whole Foods location is all around good for beer. A good atmosphere in the back near the cheeses with good service whenever I have needed it. The selection and quality are always good and they seem to carry some of the more hard to find beers from craft breweries. They have a nice selection of big and small bottles as well as 6 packs or bigger. You can find a lot of Russian River, Lost Abbey, AleSmith, etc. at this location. They usually have a cart out with singles as well so you can pick up new stuff without having to buy a whole 6 pack. The only real issue I have with Whole Foods is that a lot of their beers can be a bit pricey overall compared to other locations (Total Wine, BevMo). However, this is still a good place to come and check out for their beer selection.

I stopped off at the Porter Ranch Whole Foods to pick up a few bottles of Stone IRS after class. The selection is very good and they had what I wanted, but the bottles were on the top shelf, roasting under the florescent lights. Maybe I was being paranoid, but I bought my IRS later that day at the Whole Foods near my house. They charge forty cents less than BevMo. All of their beer is reasonably priced, which is nice and surprising considering that they charge too much for everything else in the store.

In my opinion (from what I have seen) the selection at this whole foods was pretty good. Generous belgian section (I haven't seen so many in my life in one place) Nice little Rogue selection, some stone. They actually had one huge bottle of double bastard there for 60 bucks but I didn't buy it. If it is still there I am going to claim it when I get the money. Woman working near beer department was knowledgable, and the prices were very reasonable overall. Cool gift sets of samuel smith and belgian gift packs. Overall a good stop to make when looking for imports.
