Awesome place. My favorite brewery in Houston.
Hands down the best fruited Sours ive tasted.
Popston was the best beer I tried in 2021 and I tried over 500.

This is the new outpost for Urban South in Houston. The New Orleans brewery has built a brand new facility that is making their own independent beers, but with the same concept as what they have been making in New Orleans. That is a mix of fruited "sours" and hazy IPA's. This location is pretty spacious, with a bar towards the back, lots of seating up front and spread around, and an area outside. Its a neat little place. Service is really good, all the people working here really enjoy their products, work hard, and are knowledgeable. Weekends will be packed for a while, but during the week should be really chill as they are open everyday.
They have a few TV's with the selection scrolling the beer menu, as well as a printed version. A couple of things for me on the menu...First, they list all their IPA's as just American. To me that indicates just a traditional west coast or bitter IPA. These are all murk bombs, I don't know how you could call these regular IPA and think they should update those to at least say something like "hazy." Second, they don't list the ABV for all their beers, so some of the fruited sours don't have them. Those styles could have a wide range of ABV, from very low to high. Anyway...
They have about 20 taps right now, but some of those are from other breweries. Like Holler or Sigma. They make a lager/pilsner, one "Tart Grisette" and the rest are hazy IPA's and fruit sours. I wasn't particularly impressed with the Grissette, and the lager was fine, if a hazy Americanized version of a pilsner. I can't say I would come back to the hazy IPA's and the fruited sours are OK in small doses but become way to sweet after a while.
I do like the location and the people that work here. Though seems I have different tastes, and different expectations of what I want a brewery to produce. I don't find their ultra hip styles that appealing and when Hollar Dollar Pils is the only thing I want to come back to, I might as well just go over there. I'm sure I'll be back to try some more out, but so far there are many other breweries in the area I prefer.
