A few blocks north of the main drag in Boulder, modern/retro (?) style building. This spot is much more centered toward wine and it seems to be on the "Boutique" side of things. What beer they do have is all kept cold and located in the right rear corner. They stock a smattering of import Belgians, British and German options and the expected mini stash of Colorado favorites. New Belgium, Odell, Avery etc as well as some regional heavy hitters such as Stone and Alaska. Service was friendly. Nothing special going special here beer wise. I'd go to the other higher rated beer stores in town to fill my needs next time.

Like previously noted, this is a wine store primarily, that being said this place does manage some gems of beer from time to time. They don't have a large selection of six packs or bombers however what the do have can be great. The 2.5 in selection is there simply because they don't really have a lot of beer, however what the do have is definitely worth noting. I find that if Boulder runs out of something, like the Deschutes Black Butte XX, they will be the last place to have it since nobody thinks to stop in there. I was in there today and found the 2007 Avery Beast and Mephistopheles for about 7 bucks a piece. They also had Pliny the Elder, Blind Pig, Gift of the Magi and The Abyss for cheaper then I've seen it anywhere else. I have yet to actually talk to the staff about beer but they are in general really friendly and helpful if you ask for things. If you are trying to find a wide variety of beer this definitely wouldn't be my first stop, however if you are out specifically looking for a limited release beer this place is always worth a stop by, I know I've made some great scores here.

First off this is primarily a wine store and you need to know that up front. There are alot better places to go in Boulder to get a quality beer. Now, that being said this place is not really that bad. Sure they really dont have a selection that is going to knock your socks off, however it really could be worse. You will find pretty much anything made in Colorado in this store and a few from a bit further away. The staff was friendly, not too knowledgable, but not dumb either. Overall if you had to make one stop, this would probably not be it, however you could do alot worse.

Stopped at the Boulder Wine Merchant on the way back to Greeley and after stopping at the Walnut Brewery. I was in search of Avery products and just could not find them at any of the places in Greeley...go figure right? I should have know that that would be the case the minute I drove into that town.

Anyway, I stopped at the Wine Merchant because they were still open at that hour. Not too bad. The shop is rather large, but not terribly full of beer. It has the standard beer selection, a bunch of Colorado local beers in 6 packs and a small selection of singles. I found what I was looking for when I saw the Avery singles. I had to pick up the Beast, the Mephistopheles' Stout, and the Samael. Once I had those, I was on my way.

The great thing about this place is that they carry the local beers. That is awfully nice to know, if you don't want to go into Denver to get them.

The prices were a tad high, but Boulder prices are a tad high anyway. Eh, you pay the price to drink the really good stuff, so what's a few dollars between beers?

Also, excellent wine selection and the staff is quite nice and helpful. I would definitely head back here if I lived in the area.
