I love this beer for so many reasons, I think the presentation in the bottle with the wax drip is fantastic. I feel the label gives it a classic old feel. I love the taste, you can really taste the Door County Cherries.

Smells strongly of cherries. Pours a lovely deep red color with little head. Tastes sweet at first with a slightly sour finish. Very fruity and juicy. Feel is light, dry-ish, and carbonated. As far as fruit beers go, this is top-notch! If you enjoy cherry pie, this is the beer for you.

Appearance: ruby to ruby-brown with a light tan head that fades to near-nothing immediately. Extremely bright. This has to be one of the brightest beers I've tried.

Aroma: have you ever had Luden's cherry cough drops?... Cherry with a hint of cough medicine (but in no way medicinal).

Flavor: this is very fruit forward. The cherry flavor is almost identical to a mouthful of dried montmorency cherries - with maybe a slight bit of Tootsie Roll. Damn good. This beer is not sour other than from the cherries, but is not a wild/sour beer. There is a slight red wine taste at very low levels. There is no "Belgian" flavor.

Mouthfeel: medium-heavy. Not as thick - syrupy - as Raspberry Tart, but dense nonetheless.

Overall: If New Glarus were distributed to my market, I'd drink this regularly. Fantastic! So good: at the very top any beer style with cherries.

Clear, bright red pour with a moderate ivory head
Smells like sweet tart fruit: apples, black cherries, cranberry
Lovely balance of sweet and tart, sweet like cherry laden cider that follows into a slightly acidic tartness for a dry finish
Crisp and refreshing!
