Poured from 750ml bottle into glass. No dating information found on bottle.
Ruby red colored body, slightly cloudy. Pinkish white head settles to ring fed by bubbles. Some strings of lacing.
Cherry aroma, complimented by oak barrel.
Sweet and tart cherry taste, joined by green apple, oak, slightly spicy hops, and light malt. Slight vinous wine like aspect.
Medium and syrupy mouth feel. Good carbonation support.
A magnificent fruit beer is expressed here. Cherry is the emphasis but the beer is not too sweet nor too cloying. Beautiful presentation. An excellent use of Door County cherries; the aroma and taste are authentic. More than just cherry juice, and enhanced and balanced by the malts/wheat and hops used in the brewing process.

Intense intense intense cherry flavor. Fruity and sour and medium carbonation. Pours an intense cherry color and tastes relatively light. Might be a little too cloying if I had an entire bottle, but 4-6 ounces is about right.

I'm an unabashed fanboy of New Glarus when it comes to their fruited beers. For me, they consistently nail the best-in-class designation, and this is no different. If you're in the mood for this style of beer, this is your beer. The taste, mouthfeel and body all clearly exceed the low-ABV chassis, which makes the risk v. reward calculus incredibly favorable.

Ruby red pour with a white puffy head tinged with pink. Color is unabashed cherries.

Aroma is like the tart and sweet filling of a cherry pie without any crust or dusting of sugar. Sweet, earthy and tart are the calling cards. Sets the mouth watering.

Taste is right there - sweet and tart cherry puree with a mix of other jammy berries, but it's all balanced by a toasted-cracker malt. It's hard to find but it's there, way more in taste than in smell, which prevents this beer from turning into a puree-parody of a beer.

Light on the palate with a slightly sweet and tart pucker at the end. Beautiful sipper for any time of the year.

L: Ruby/maroon in color with thin head that has all sizes of bubbles. And small bubbles steadily rising from bottom.
S: Big time cherries. Smells like a cherry blow pop tastes.
T: Slight Tart turns into a cherry blow pop. A lot of cherry, without being too much.
F: The carbonation is perfect for the beer and the taste almost makes you feel like you just had cherries.
O: Very good.

L A nice bready rocky head, a beautiful ruby red coloring

S: Cherries, Cherries, Cherries. Sweetness that's delicate and spring like. Maybe a crisp granny smith apple in here too.

F: What can you say, It's a cherry pie with cinnamon, sugar, and crust. This beer is such a light and fun beer.

F: Light and crisp, very easy drinking

O: Fantastic, no complaints. NG is King over the fruit beers.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly crystal clear ruby red/copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off light khaki with amazing retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of huge sweet/tart red/black cherries, berries, pear, apple, fruit jam/skin, cherry pits, almond, and brown sugar; with light notes of vanilla, oak, funk, and yeast earthiness. Incredible aromas with amazing complexity and balance of cherries, fruity yeast, sweet malts, and light oak notes; with big strength. Taste of huge sweet/tart red/black cherries, berries, pear, apple, fruit jam/skin, cherry pits, almond, and brown sugar; with light notes of vanilla, oak, funk, and yeast earthiness. Light fruit tang/tartness and yeast/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of sweet/tart red/black cherries, berries, pear, apple, fruit jam/skin, cherry pits, almond, brown sugar, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of cherries, fruity yeast, sweet malts, and light oak flavors; with a nice malt/tartness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Mildly increasing dryness from fruit tang/tartness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety, and lightly slick/syrupy/acidic/tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4%. Overall this is an insane fruit beer! All around amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of cherries, fruity yeast, sweet malts, and light oak flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink, with the mellowly acidic/tangy/drying finish. The definition of cherry jam as a beer. You get some backing yeast complexity, but this is just all cherries with some sweet malt balance. I couldn't possibly taste any more ripe authentic cherry flavor, even if I bought them from the store. An absolutely mind blowing offering, and the best fruit beer I have ever had.

Appearance - Poured into a snifter, deep garnett red with relative clearness. Sandstone, near finger width head that hangs for a fair amount of time before dissolving to a mostly barren surface and a razor thin ring of suds around the edge of the glass. Not much for lacing aside from a small handful of minuscule spots.

Smell - Rich cherry aroma that's more sweet than tart. Not picking up much else.

Taste - Follows the nose. Rich cherry flavor upfront and throughout. Sweet with a nice, tart undertone. Vague trace of oak near the finish? Aftertaste rings of cherry for days.

Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Texture is slick at before turning slightly syrupy as it dries in the finish.

Overall - Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-Cherry Bomb! It's interesting and it's tasty, but not especially impressive due to the lack of flavor outside the strong cherry profile. Where's the oak? There's a ghostly trace, maybe, if you dig deep enough to find it; maybe that's projecting on my part. Great dessert beer, but buyer beware. Don't expect more than 'cherry juice' cleverly disguised as a beer. I was more impressed with Founders BA cherry ale, Frootwood.
