L A nice bready rocky head, a beautiful ruby red coloring

S: Cherries, Cherries, Cherries. Sweetness that's delicate and spring like. Maybe a crisp granny smith apple in here too.

F: What can you say, It's a cherry pie with cinnamon, sugar, and crust. This beer is such a light and fun beer.

F: Light and crisp, very easy drinking

O: Fantastic, no complaints. NG is King over the fruit beers.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly crystal clear ruby red/copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off light khaki with amazing retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of huge sweet/tart red/black cherries, berries, pear, apple, fruit jam/skin, cherry pits, almond, and brown sugar; with light notes of vanilla, oak, funk, and yeast earthiness. Incredible aromas with amazing complexity and balance of cherries, fruity yeast, sweet malts, and light oak notes; with big strength. Taste of huge sweet/tart red/black cherries, berries, pear, apple, fruit jam/skin, cherry pits, almond, and brown sugar; with light notes of vanilla, oak, funk, and yeast earthiness. Light fruit tang/tartness and yeast/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of sweet/tart red/black cherries, berries, pear, apple, fruit jam/skin, cherry pits, almond, brown sugar, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of cherries, fruity yeast, sweet malts, and light oak flavors; with a nice malt/tartness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Mildly increasing dryness from fruit tang/tartness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety, and lightly slick/syrupy/acidic/tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4%. Overall this is an insane fruit beer! All around amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of cherries, fruity yeast, sweet malts, and light oak flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink, with the mellowly acidic/tangy/drying finish. The definition of cherry jam as a beer. You get some backing yeast complexity, but this is just all cherries with some sweet malt balance. I couldn't possibly taste any more ripe authentic cherry flavor, even if I bought them from the store. An absolutely mind blowing offering, and the best fruit beer I have ever had.

Appearance - Poured into a snifter, deep garnett red with relative clearness. Sandstone, near finger width head that hangs for a fair amount of time before dissolving to a mostly barren surface and a razor thin ring of suds around the edge of the glass. Not much for lacing aside from a small handful of minuscule spots.

Smell - Rich cherry aroma that's more sweet than tart. Not picking up much else.

Taste - Follows the nose. Rich cherry flavor upfront and throughout. Sweet with a nice, tart undertone. Vague trace of oak near the finish? Aftertaste rings of cherry for days.

Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Texture is slick at before turning slightly syrupy as it dries in the finish.

Overall - Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-Cherry Bomb! It's interesting and it's tasty, but not especially impressive due to the lack of flavor outside the strong cherry profile. Where's the oak? There's a ghostly trace, maybe, if you dig deep enough to find it; maybe that's projecting on my part. Great dessert beer, but buyer beware. Don't expect more than 'cherry juice' cleverly disguised as a beer. I was more impressed with Founders BA cherry ale, Frootwood.

I honestly don't know how any beer could be a better representation of this style. It's just incredible! You can clearly tell they used real cherries, not some syrup when they made this beer. Very well done!

This one pours a clear and thin looking dark-ish red, with a small fizzy head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like pure and unadulterated cherry- sweet Maraschino, and slightly tart, with a spicy finish, and the lightest amount of malt.

This is purely a vehicle for cherry goodness, It's got a better cherry flavor than actual cherry juice, given the somewhat invisible boosting from the malt backbone in the background. It's got just the slightest hint of tartness to it. There's barely any flavor that's not directly cherry-related, but that's ok, because the flavor is just dynamite as is.

This is light bodied, with a pretty intensely juicy mouthfeel.

New Glarus makes the best straight up fruit beers in the country, hands down. This is pretty absurd. It's what I imagine cherry heaven is like.
