This beer pours a bright ruby red with a medium sized pink head. The aroma is bright and sweet cherry, not quite medicinal, but with a hint of mint. The flavor again features strong cherry, bordering on medicinal but not in an unpleasant way, with mild brown vinegar flavors, though balanced more sweet than sour. The mouthfeel is soft, with fluffy carbonation. Overall is a renown for a reason, it is a good sweet sour balance, though definitely on the dessert side, but it maintain a solid tension and drinkability.

Bottle poured into snifter- cherries greet the nose; pleasant -- Nice ruby color; great carbonation. Sweet, semi-tart taste that is easy on the palate. 6/14/17

What's the big deal? Full disclosure is I am not a Feuit beer guy. The reviews were the cherry flavor is mild. Not so. Tastes like a tart lambic. Pass my Spotted Cow please....

If it was possible to take a cough drop, liquefy it, and make it into a fermented beverage, something along the lines of this would be the end result. Can't say that I've had anything like this and this wasn't even close to being a typical Fruit / Vegetable Beer that I've been quick to dismiss in years past!

Not quite a cherry red, a transmission fluid red, or a brick red, the hue of this beer was clear, somewhat muted, and more rustic than I initially expected. Not much head on this but what was present held it's own and was amazingly thinner than the copious rings of lacing that were left behind. Cherry, juice, and a everlasting tartness were present in the nose with much more of those coming through in the taste. Earthy oak and a slick, addicting syrup kicked in immediately afterwards but never did this feel contrived or artificial. Quite a slick mouthfeel here as there seemed to be tasteless but solid presence of resin here. Combine that with a lively carbonation and extremely low amount of alcohol and this bottle didn't seem quite so big once I dug into the liquid.

Session beers don't get much more addicting or easygoing than this, as evidenced by how easily I polished this off. If there was a beer that combined old world craftsmanship with new world innovation, this would be it. Can't say that I ever had anything like this or will ever find something out there on this level - this was a must-try that deserves a better categorization than to be lumped in with beers with fruit syrups added and Pumpkin Ales. This made me want to have some cherry pie, tart pastries, and a one-way ticket back to where I was born in the Badger State. If you love beer, you owe it to yourself to get your hands on a bottle of this!

Pours brownish red. Foamy, medium, pinkish off white head fades shortly.

Smells sweet cherry, tart apple, cider and hint of brown sugar.

Tastes sweet cherry, tart apple and hints of lemon. Finish is semi sweet with just a touch of tartness and some cherry. Medium to full body and smooth lightly fizzy medium carbonation.

Poured from 750 mL bottle into cervoise.
A: Pours a nice light ruby red with 2 inch frothy tan head with good retention. Faint lacing on the glass.
S: Cherries...mostly sweet with some sour/tart too. Smells juicy...delicious.
T: Cherries...at first tart and sour (a bit mouth-puckering as I wasn't expecting this from the aroma). Then the sweet kicks in and from there it is a nice balance. Perfect. With warming, hints of oak tannins.
M: Light body. Sweet, tart, and sour all rolled into one.
D: Another amazing fruit beer from New Glarus! I really enjoyed the different cherry notes--sweet, tart, and sour. Perfect balance. The subtle note from the oak aging is a nice touch.
