Pours a rusty (dare I say dirty?) red with a reddish-white, effusive head with some chunky islands that stay behind. Label says this will be "ruby red" but no such luck for me, unless I have mistaken idea of what a ruby looks like. Aroma is cherries, no doubt about it, but in a jammy, preserved way, not as fresh fruit. Taste, thankfully, gets away from that sugary jamminess with a real nice tartness that cuts through everything. Mouthfeel smooth with a carbonation that melts on the tongue. Unlike the tartless Raspberry Tart, this is one I would revisit.

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip to a deep red topped by a dense two finger light tan head that fades slowly to a small pool with minimal lacing
S: Smells of bright juicy and delicious cherries. It's one note but it smells fantastic
T: Taste is tart with tons of sweet and sour cherry flavors. Swallow is more sweet and sour cherry with some lingering tartness on the finish along with even more cherry flavor.
M: This beer has a medium amount of body with a slightly silky mouthfeel. The carbonation on this beer is just slightly prickly while the beer has a drying finish.
O: Overall this is a fantastic representative for the style. I'd go so far as to call it the gold standard. It has great flavor even if it is lacking in complexity. The authenticity of the cherry flavor is perfect.

I love this beer for so many reasons, I think the presentation in the bottle with the wax drip is fantastic. I feel the label gives it a classic old feel. I love the taste, you can really taste the Door County Cherries.

Smells strongly of cherries. Pours a lovely deep red color with little head. Tastes sweet at first with a slightly sour finish. Very fruity and juicy. Feel is light, dry-ish, and carbonated. As far as fruit beers go, this is top-notch! If you enjoy cherry pie, this is the beer for you.
