Treat yourself to a rare delight. The voluminous raspberry bouquet will greet you long before your lips touch your glass. Serve this Wisconsin framboise very cold in a champagne flute. Then hold your glass to a light and enjoy the jewel-like sparkle of a very special ale.
Oregon proudly shares their harvest of mouth watering berries, which we ferment spontaneously in large oak vats. Then we employ Wisconsin farmed wheat and year old Hallertau hops to round out this extravaganza of flavor.

Pours a deep burgundy that looks something like black cherry. Translucency carries a heavy fog, nearing on opaque. Head is two fingers of tan foam with good retention. Aroma is raspberries, which blossoms and bloom right off the front. minor notes of grass, cherry, and bready malts add some depth, but for the most part - it's slightly tart raspberry on the nose. Flavor profile is raspberry, which is rich and full throughout. While it leans sweet as a whole, there is a minor tartness, which picks up a little at the finish. Other notes of grass, cherry, oak, and bready malts round it out. Mouth feel is medium in thickness. Texture is driven by a mild creamy, frothiness with effervescence being very soft. Overall, an easy drinking beer with tons of flavor.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegelau tulip from a 12oz bottle.

Pours a dark ruby red. Smells of raspberry, funk, white grape. Taste is tart, no doubt, but spectacularly balanced, raspberry obviously and gives lambic vibes. Mouthfeel is appropriately carbed with lingering tartness on the finish. World-class.

Well this is surprising.

The nose could give you lambic thoughts. It's sour/tart and well raspberry. Please let me know when you're getting something useful from this. There's a bit more depth and sweets than maybe some lambics but I've had those that match this.

Taste - A master class in balance. Fruit beers run the risk of being too sweet, artificial, and well just down right bad. New Glarus has managed to run the gauntlet of balancing the tart/sour notes upfront with a really nice and fairly well done sweet and rich finish. Almost a chocolate nugget but maybe more of a sweeter than normal bread note on the finish? It's clean, it's simple, but it's really inviting. But you want to go back to that nice tart note instantly. It's giving me feelings of sweet and salty where you love the combination and one leads to going back for the other just here it's tart and sweet.

I'm not big on reviewing mouth feel, but I gotta note the carbonation levels here are flawless. They add so much depth to this one. Rich full carbonation that feels creamy going down. Freaking great.

Smells fruity and sweet. Tastes the same with sweet and tart raspberry flavors hitting the pallet. Overall, smooth decently carbonated and on par with the new Glarus strawberry rhubarb but raspberry.

I wanted to go into this one blind, other than knowing it scores high. Dark red color, nice smooth feel. The name is spot on. Raspberry tart is truly the only way to describe it. I am a sour beer fan, and was expecting this to be a sour. To me this is more of just a raspberry flavored beer, but I'm not disappointed in the slightest. Overall this is very very good and definitely recommend it. I am enjoying my first one on rather warm August day and it's nice and refreshing. But I can definitely see how this works as a fall/winter beer as well. Perfect for a Christmas Eve. Great beer New Glarus!

Appearance: Dark ruby, good light pink head.

Smell: Raspberry and pretty strong tartness.

Taste: Tart and acidic with the raspberries in the background. Mix of tart and raspberries in the finish. Light bodied.

Overall: The other mainstay fruit beer from New Glarus, Raspberry Tart follows its name and provides a tart raspberry experience. I would have preferred more raspberry and less tart, but oh well. I prefer the Belgian red.

(12 oz bottle, obtained at the brewery two days ago... poured into a clear, plastic cup)

Cloudy, raspberry red liquid; some lasting foam in the form of a collar... redolent raspberry on the nose... raspberry pie on the palate, fruit and dough; approaching fruit shrub in its acidity; mesmerizing dimension and expression of the raspberry flavor... the tart tingle invigorates my senses; its body has a lazy plushness to it, almost but not quite nectary... an aptly named beer; this was my first time having it in about 9 years, and I was in heaven; looking forward to sharing some with friends back home (2186)

The beer pours a dark red with a beige-like head that offers wonderful lacing. The aroma is of raspberry preserves and berry pie. Lovely flavor balance with both sweetness and tartness being present. Chewy mouth feel and long tart aftertaste. A really tasty sour.
