Pours dark brown in which some light sneaks through edges. One finger, brown creamy head. Smell the smoky malts in which some meat tones come out. Bakers chocolate.
Taste of smoked malts and bakers chocolates in which the smokiness sticks around. The smokiness does poses meat taste. Black licorice.
Not a thick mouthfeel. Nice beer.

Bottle. Khaki head. Caramel hued brown.
I don’t know if I’d call this a porter, but it tastes like a solid smoked German dark lager. A lot of smoke and bacon flavors. Fried pork. Chocolate and caramel. Medium bodied. Flavorful and easy drinking.

Bottled summer 2016; drank 8/16/16 @ the Yarchives.
Brown/black appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice tan head; frothy, tree-rung lace.
Smoked peat, banana, caramel & cream notes in the nose.
Creamy medium mouthfeel.
Smoked peat, cream & medium roast coffee bean flavors.
Smoke forward with subtle flavors underneath; a nice take on the style.

Not a big fan of smoked.
This reminded me of the ashtray in a cheap 1970s hotel lobby.

Great dark body beer with a nice campfire aroma. Flavor has a nice chocolate notes with just the right amount of smoke. A unique and fantastic beer.

Dark brown with a large, dense tan creamy froth that slowly settles.
Light smoke is exhibited on the nose with mild to dark roasted malt, hickory and roasted nuts.
Taste is chocolately and roasty with smoke that is woody and not meaty, closing in on nutty, smoked almonds. It really is a lovely smoke, like a campfire, or smoker before throwing on the meat--in other words, it is not overwhelming at all, and is just right.
Moderate body with a nice crisp fizz and a semi-dry finish,

12oz bottle poured into a NG glass
A- pours a deep black color with a two-finger creamy khaki colored head that has great retention long after the pour and leaves some lacing behind
S- smells of roasted malt, chocolate, smoked wood, peat & bandaide
T- smoky and roasted malt up front leads into some chocolaty sweetness, followed by vanilla whipping cream and mocha coffee. The finish brings out some smoked wood that gives light flavors of smoked peat and pork, lingers of smoke and chocolate
M- medium body and moderate carbonation leads to a creamy mouthfeel that continues into a creamy silky finish, high drinkability
O- smoke is just the right intensity, super drinkable, wish i had more than one
