Large pillowy bronze colored foamy head. Brew is medium viscosity and black. Awesome "tight" lacing.

Very light caramel scented coffee aroma.

Smooth, crisp, lingering finish, well put together, light, aromatic, lots of caramel, slight hint of coffee and is well placed. My only gripe is that it's a bit too light.

Recommended, but not a "must find". Thanks for sharing!

Black color with a massive head that had good retention before settling to a thick cap. Moderate amount of lacing is left down the glass.

Underwhelming aroma for a stout, let alone a coffee stout. Mild roasted malt with a hint of smoke and cocoa. No sign of coffee.

Faintest of coffee flavor. Smoke is the main contributor to the flavor with cocoa coming in near the finish. Mild roasted bitterness.

Not a big body but it is not a big beer. Feels a little thin but is nicely carbonated. Soft and smooth. Too bad the flavors are not there for it to compliment.

Probably New Glarus's least impressive beer. Just does not deliver the coffee and the base stout is not that impressive either.

Not too bad. Very pronounced coffee flavor.

Creamy tan head. Black body.

Smells like coffee, roasted malts and chocolate.

Definately tastes like coffee. Than you can taste chocolate and malts.

Light body, medium carbonation.

Good flavor, light body. This is a good beer.

12oz bottle poured into a nonic pint.

S - Mellow coffee, dark chocolate.

A - Very dark black in color but not necessarily opaque. Dark tan head is large and rocky. No lacing.

T - Malt character is just chocolate and coffee like. Very smooth feel with great drinkability. The coffee shows its colors in the latter half, fresh and mellow yet adding tons of flavor. The finish leaves you with a lasting coffee note.

M - Medium to medium-light body, medium-light carbonation, never really sweet nor dry.

O - The malt taste skips pretty much all intermittent crystal malts and goes right for chocolate malts leaving a one-dimensional flavor. Sometimes you get a coffee stout that seems to consist of diner coffee, in this case the coffee is distinguishable and yet smooth with no harsh bitterness, pleasant. Body left a bit to be desired and the nose was a little understated. I recommend drinking this beer as absolutely fresh as possible. I've had this beer around for a little while and it seems to diminish quickly with age.

Riedel tulip

A: Pours a really deep dark brown/black. Light tan layer of one finger of head. Leaves some nice lacing sheeting.

S: Smell is more of a ground coffee aroma. There is some dark chocolate there. Some cocoa. And this bottle might be nearly a year old, so still holding up nicely.

T: Tip of the tongue, I get chocolate first. Then I get some of that ground coffee flavor. It's a nice mesh of the two.

M: Big medium leading to full, good carbonation makes it feel lighter.
