Taste: Smooth, big dark chocolate malts, oatmeal makes for creamy mouthfeel, semi sweet. Roasted chocolate malt nose. Black/Brown, opaque, tan head of ringed lattice. Full but not heavy body.

Chocolate and roasted malt aroma. Pours black with small head that leaves pretty decent lacing. Very roasted taste, smooth and easy to drink. Good feel, a bit lighter than expected. Not New Glarus's specialty, but they still make a tasty stout.

Pours a dark brown beer with a red tint. Not much of a head. No real smell. Tastes of subtle chocolate and coffee. Mouthfeel is light for a stout. Overall, it's okay.

This is a very good stout, it has a good off white head and a fair amount of lacing left on the glass. This is a regional beer worth trying when you come to Wisconsin.

Pours a deep brown, clear, with dark red highlights and a thin tan head that almost completely disappeared. Smells of deep, roasted malts and chocolate milk! Tastes very roasty, some chocolate, and even resembles banana nut bread in the finish. Feel is very smooth, a bit light, mildly creamy and pretty well balanced with bitterness only seeming to come from the roasted malts. Overall, this is a great oatmeal stout. Maybe a touch thin, but that only makes it more consumable. Cheers!

L- classic black stout
S- not many notes coming through. Would like more roasted character
T- can easily tell it is an oatmeal stout. But it's a little to "1-note." It needs more character at the end. More roasted barley would likely accomplish that. Slight roasted character, dried fruit and minor chocolate notes come through.
F- good body. Something that is important to the integrity of a stout, especially oatmeal stout.
O- good beer. One of New Glarus' best. Needs more depth but all the flavors that are present work well.
