I made a beer run to WI on a Sunday seeking out this beer. I've heard from dozens of people the exact same thing, "I love this beer." I asked the clerk at Hudson Liquors what he thought, he said "I love this beer." Solid and consistent endorsements all around.
Poured into an iced glass, drank slowly to taste the flavors change as it warms. Slow, standard pour down the side of the glass...HOLY HEAD!!! It foamed up like a 5th grade volcano science project. Waiting for the head to recede. 2 minutes, half the head...I think this qualifies as decent head retention and is something I did not expect from a Belgian Pale Ale. Stone Soup has a nice cloudy honey color. It smells malty and yeasty and a has a sweet and spicy witbier flavor to the taste buds of this amateur observer. Light carbonation and mouthfeel.
Like all of the New Glarus beers that I've had, this is a good beer, but the flavors are a little more subtle than what I like, which leaves me wanting.
I like this beer, but do not love it. Meh, you can only be so happy.

12 oz bottle thanks to Steve. Another lighter ale from NG, soft Belgian yeast notes in the aroma and taste. Sweet, and with some substance, some weizen notes too, banana and clove. Interesting.

Pours a crystal clear gold color. Initially quite effervescent. Thin one finger tight white head.
Aroma has notes of clove, ginger, fruity esters, and a light hop aroma.
Taste has notes of clove, ginger, some light bready malts and a touch of lemon and golden delicious apple. Flavors are clean and crisp.
Feel is bright, crisp, and easy drinking. Moderately carbonated. Dry finish.
Overall a unique but tasty Belgian pale ale.

Pours a hazy golden color with a foamy white head that lasts quite a while. Aromas of fruit and sugar. Taste is sweet with some fruit up front. Good mouth feel.

If you gave this beer to 100 BAs I'll bet at least 90 would guess it's a hefeweizen - and a good one at that. I'm struggling with this being called a Belgian pale ale. It has classic hefe aromas and flavors of clove, banana, and bubblegum. At least it's a very tasty beer, even at 6+ months old.

Pours a clear lighter golden color. There's a 1 finger white head. Retention isn't the best, but there's a lot of carbonation bubbles rising in the glass.
The nose is a very nice sweet malty aroma. Slightly fruity. Some spices to the nose.
Taste - It is slightly sweet. I do get slight fruit, to me apple, but very slight. Minimal hops.
Feel - crisp feeling. Nice carbonation in my palate. Lighter bodied, but not watery.
Fairly easy drinking beer. Quite pleasing to my palate.

Really enjoy new glarus and their lagers, but this one feel short for me. Tasted like it wanted to incorporate hefeweizen elements into the base lager feel and grains, but instead sat on top giving hefeweizen orange, bubble gum and wheat, following by heavy lager yeast and grains. Has nice orange and lager malt aromas, but also smells a little like beer burps, somewhat off putting. Just didn't come together for me in feel either, with higher carbonation adding to the confusion of hefe and lager layers. Not that this was bad, just not a do over
