Poured from a 12z bottle

L: Beautiful golden orange with 3 fingers white frothy head. Good lacing all the way down.

S: Smell is fantastic. Bananas dominate the nose, sweet fruits coming through.

T: This is a delicious wheat. Again, getting banana, candied fruits.

F: Nicely carbonated, creaming. Very nice.

O: Hefeweizens were the beers that got me into craft beer, however I have since fallen off drinking them. However, this is a fantastic American made example of a German hefeweizen. If you put this up against some of the best German hefeweizen's, I don't think you would find it too far off. Overall, I was really blown away by this beer. Excellent!

Pours a hazy, cloudy gold color with a four finger frothy velvety white head. Looks amazing. Head very slowly dissipates leaving not much lacing on the glass but some thin white film along the outer ring of the beer.

Smell is full of aromas of wheat, bread, pepper, spice, and clove. Mild undertones of banana and a touch of roasted nuttiness.

Taste is initially wheat and pepper giving way to a slight sweetness with notes of banana, clove, cinnamon, and banana bread. Just enough spice on the finish to provide a nice balance. This tastes like the real mccoy - its not a German style hefeweizen - this is a real hefeweizen.

Feel is full bodied but light and crisp with mild carbonation.

Overall this is one of, it not the best hefeweizen brewed outside of Germany. And while a fresh Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier in Germany might be better - here in the States this is tops for me. Just incredible. If you can get this, don't hesitate to buy a 6-pack

Wow, just wow. Great hefeweizen, super refreshing and full of banana and clove. It gives weihenstephaner a run for its money, if you're in Wisconsin buy it. You won't regret it.

Perfect creamy smoothness of an ideal wheat beer.

I have to be in a special mood for a hefe, but when it's hot it's the perfect beer. Dancing Man checks all the boxes: gold, cloudy appearance with a monster white head and !acing that sticks around; you have to be really careful pouring this into a 12 oz glass. Smell is a little spicy, but I'm not overwhelmed by banana (good thing AFAIC). Taste is crisp with a nice mix of wheat and fruit, but again nothing overwhelming. ABV is totally hidden, would not guess it's a 7% beer.
New Glarus nailed this one. Hope it sticks around through the summer this time.

Probably my favorite beer from New Glarus. Appearance is a hazy orange with some bubbling carbonation. Poured with a billowy white head. Aromas of banana, clove spice and cinnamon. Tastes of banana, wheat, sweet malts and some cinnamon. Has a good mouthfeel with some lingering sweetness. Drinks easily for 7.2%.

Super hazy with big rocky head. Smell is wheat and a sour tart twang that reminds me of a gose. Spicy clove and bubblegum.

As if you'd expect any different, NG offers up a pretty darn tasty take on a German style. No need to get too specific; here's what you get: huge sweet banana + fruity nose, similar palate, tasty indeed, feel is the lone detractor, not because it's bad, but because it just misses that bouyancy/fluffiness of the best German examples, but otherwise this is a winner. Of course.

12oz bottle courtesy of the largesse of @Ri0. No obvious freshness date, though the bottle is stamped “0546 14:11.” My first from New Glarus!

Poured into a big-ass Hofbrauhaus 1.5L weizen glass, this was a hazy, lemony gold color, with a massive white head that took it’s time dropping. Lots of lace.

This don’t smell like no weak-ass American wheat ale, but like the real McCoy, or maybe the real Jodl (watching a WWII doc. Jodl was the first Bavarian that popped into my head). A little spicy, a little bubblegummy, quite clove-y and banana-y.

Tastes just like a Bavarian Hefe. Lightly fruity, a little earthy, with a little bit of a crisp finish, I could drink this all day in a beergarden, or anywhere else for that matter. Although the abv percentage is a little high for the style, it doesn’t seem to impact the taste.

Fairly light bodied, with a soft mouthfeel that is slightly crisp at the end.

Hugely drinkable beer. I wish I knew of a local Hefe as good as this. Thanks, Ri0!
