Beautifully cloudy with a huge foamy three finger stark white head. Decent retention and clumpy lacing left of the glass.

The amount of banana and red fruit phenols is nearly overwhelming, there is a backing of clove, baby powder and even a touch of smoke. Malt is lost to the giant wave of Hefe character.

Solid foundation of wheat and malt leads to a tight platform for the spicy clove and impression of cinnamon. Yeast is not overly phenolic in the flavor. A touch of mineral character rears its head in the finish.

Tight malt profile leads to a drinkable beer that isn't as heavy as it looks. Well hidden alcohol and good carbonation. I kept needing to catch myself from finishing this too fast.

Nearly flawless, a tremendous example of an American born Hefeweizen. Big ups to Maximum12 for the opportunity to try this one.

Got a six pack from the current batch going around; never had it before. This stuff restored my faith in wheat beers. Pours to a very thick head smells like cloves and banana bread to me and tastes like it smells. Super easy drinking especially considering the abv. I love the kind of spicy clove taste you get after the initial bready banana goodness. A complete steal at $7.49 a six pack. Hope this stays around for a while. Glad I branched out from my usual comfort zone and have it a shot.

All my habits orient me to try as many different single beers as possible. (But, I drink only two a day. Unlike you young people, I have to watch my calories.)
I have bought at least two sampler packs from New Glarus a year for several years. (But, I only buy six-packs of two brews: Dancing Man and Staghorn Octoberfest.)
Except last summer, when it seems they stopped brewing Dancing Man. Today on their website, it is not listed for 2016 and, instead, is on the page "Beers We Have Known And Loved" which are recipes they pull out usually every third year or more or, in some cases, never.
My review: One of the most refreshing hefeweizen on this planet and few Americans rival the German masters.

August 2016 update: because I and others asked for it, we got it... and I bought two six-packs. Life is good.
2 lessons:
1) Good brewers listen to their best customers.
2) Dancing Man is much better if drunk fresh.
