Notes: Pure and crisp this is a beer with nothing to hide. Wisconsin two-row barley malt ensures a mellow and smooth body. We imported Noble Hop varieties from Germany and the Czech Republic to ensure a fine mature aroma with no coarse bitterness.

A: Pours a nice very golden yellow, with excellent lacing and quite a frothy head
S: It smells exactly like I imagine a good lager should
T: Very tasty, with a hint of sweetness, but just that, not overpowering at all
M: A bit thicker than one would expect, but to me, that is a plus
O: Considering that it is a lager, I would say that it is one of the best examples of the style that you can have. At times, something simple can be exactly that, and yet, quite refreshing.
New Glarus, I have yet to be disappointed by your brews, just wish I had better access to them.

12oz brown bottle with no freshness date.

Color: Clear pale yellow.

Smell: Clean pale malt, subtle herbal hopping that is very floral.

Taste & Mouthfeel: Lager goodness, big smoothness with in the lighter body. Fresh cut hay, cleat maltiness throughout. Level hop bitterness, delicate floral hop flavor. Grainy finish what lands semi-dry.

Overall: Hell Yeah! I could quaff this beer back any day ... any time. A simple lager beer that just shows off enough yet keeps it simple and very drinkable.

I'm reviewing this according to style. As an American-style lager, it is probably the best I've ever had. Still, one always hope that this style will improve, and my ratings leave it room to grow.

It is an easy drinking beer. It's just as clear as a typical american lager, but maybe with a bit more yellow intensity. It is definitely very carbonated. Big head.

Like other american style lagers, it is not very malty. On the other hand, it is not watery. It won't hop-bite you, but unlike others, there is some hop aroma and flavor, it just isn't that bitter.

This might be a good one to introduce to folks who are macro loyalists. They might be able to taste some subtle qualities in this one that are lacking in their macro, without hitting them on the head with a hop hammer.

My all time favorite, sit and chill beer. Clean, summery, and crisp taste with a light and fizzy mouth feel. Drive to Wisconsin from Maryland to load up on this and other New Glarus beers a few years ago. There are many incredible beers but because of the clarity and smooth taste this is definitely my go to for fresh light flavor.

Pours a clear golden color with a small white head and medium to low carbonation.

Scent of light, fresh grain ad mild hops. Nothing particularly fascinating about the scent, but it is certainly not bad.

Taste of sweet grain and some grassy hops. As with the scent, it is a simple beer, but it is tasty and something I could easily drink on a regular basis.

Mouthfeel is light bodied and slightly oily with good carbonation.

Pours brilliant straw with a 1” white foam collar. Not a lot of aroma – some light grains, faint hops. Light malt flavors but not overwhelming. Light, crisp, sparkly and refreshing. Not my favorite style but well done.

Bottle, "1635 08:44" stamped on shoulder, 10815A22310 stamped on the bottom. Pilsner glass. Graded to 1C, American Premium Lager.

Appearance: Pours a bright, clear straw gold with streaming effervescence. 2 fingers foamy white head. Legendary lacing and retention. Leaves beautiful rings on the side of the glass with each sip. retains about 1/4 inch the whole way down, not kidding.

Aroma: Beer. A graininess common of American lagers. I actually like this smell because it smells like beer, but I couldn't tell it apart from Coors or Budweiser.

Taste: Ever so slightly sweet arrival quickly turning grainy, straw-like, like dried sweet hay, then just enough bitterness to call the sweetness to a close, followed by a hint of lingering sour/sweet graininess. Do I notice a theme developing here? Don't get me wrong here - graininess is not a bad thing in my book for an American lager, it's just so dominated by one flavor.

Mouthfeel: Light, highly carbonated, and just a little slick.

Overall: This is American Beer at its best. I get a craving for beer like this in the summer, I really do. Then I get a can of PBR, and it scratches the itch, but it reminds me why I don't drink it more often. If I lived in Wisconsin, that might not be the case. I'd mow my lawn every day to have an excuse to drink this. And at 4.25% ABV, you can keep your wits about you. I love lagers, but am more partial to the heavier and more bitter styles. However graded to style, it really does not get much better than this.

Bottle from a sampler pack.

With many breweries switching to their heavier brews in accordance with the season change ti's nice to take a break with a lighter brew with less calories.

It is definitely pale. A light, transparent gold color with lots of carbonation. It's aroma is light, with hints of straw and hops. The taste is crisp, with a bit of citrus. It goes down very easy with little aftertaste. I like this one, it's light, tasty, and unoffensive. Nice job, guys!

Light gold with a big head and lots of lacing. The nose is pretty weak with some grassiness.

The taste is pretty bland. Maybe they're shooting for a Miller clone here to wean people off the macros, and I guess if that's the goal, it's an admirable one. All the same, this tastes like a macro. Comparing to others of the style, it doesn't come out badly; it's crisp and clean. I just don't see myself wanting to drink any more of it.
