Notes:
Quests of unobtainable perfection exist. Brewmaster Dan's Holy Grail is the perfect pilsner. His ideal being an old school blur of German and Czech styles. Heirloom pilsner malted barley and a double decoction mash begin the maddeningly complex journey. Joined by Bavarian royalty Diamant, Mittelfrüh, Saphir, Select and Hallertau Blanc hops that gracefully weigh in a quaffable 35 IBU. The simplicity of a six week lager forges this pilsner treasure.

Appearance - The beer was golden yellow with visible carbonation and a one inch head.
Smell - The grains and a light bitterness were evident.
Taste - The initial taste was very bready, accompanied by a dry earthy bitterness. Toward the finish, there was a hint of orange sweetness.
Mouthfeel - The beer was full bodied with a frothy bread feel.
Overall - I expected a bit more brightness, but this is still a high quality pilsner.

From a bottle:
This beer pours a very clear golden color. Tons of carbonation bubbles rising in the glass like a carbonation tornado. The head that's produced is 2 finger and very white. The head looks quite frothy and fluffy. Decent head retention and there's some lacing on the glass.
The nose is quite full of bread and biscuit. I also get a grassy earthy aroma on this beer.
Taste - Up front, right away, there's a slight hop bitterness. This gives way to a malty flavor - bread/biscuit. I also get the earthy grassy flavor I was getting from the aroma.
The body is quite decent. I get a very crisp and clean body. The carbonation tickles my throat going down.
This is a solid effort by NG. Very delicious and easy drinking beer.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pours straw yellow orange with a small white head. Smells of sweet grain, not much else. Tastes of sweet grain, a very nice profile. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

12oz bottle. Etched at the bottom of the bottle is '023028175173B'.
Clear, pale gold colored body. One finger of white head, with good staying power. Leaves behind split webs of lacing.
Aroma is toasted bread, floral and grassy hops, spice, and fruit akin to green apple.
Taste is of bread yeast, floral and grassy hops, spice note, and a touch of citrus. Noticeable bitterness level.
Medium mouth feel. Prickly on the tongue. Very good carbonation.
Sweet, bready, but with a bit of spiciness. Quite thirst quenching.

(Enjoyed from a bottle in a boot glass, rated within the style.)
Look: pours a regular gold/ light gold color. Milk white frothy head lasts maybe 2 minuets. Lacing is great
Smell: Smells amazing! Very present bready smells with thin floral aromas and slight citrus background
Taste: tastes great too i like the thin nature and bready notes coming along with the slight bitterness not normally found in American styles
Feel: The light body and mouthfeel are excellent when tasting, nothing offensive about this beer in the slightest and the flavor doesn't suffer because of it.
Overall: great brew by New Glarus im glad they are embracing the german styles and doing it so well, affordably too. Cheers!

Appearance: Pours a completely clear, medium golden color with a strong white head. (3.75)
Aroma: Strong aromas of grassy and floral hops, yeast, and some pale German Munich malts. (4.00)
Flavor: Strong adn bitter flavors of floral hops, grassy hops, with some earthy and yeasty bread malts. Finishes yeast, bready, and bitter. (4.25)
Feel: Medium-bodied, strong carbonation. finishes yeasty, dry and bitter. (4.25)
Compared to Warpigs A Light in the Black 4/2023: Pours lighter, milder head. Milder aromas. More bitter flower and grass. Less lemon sweetness and bread. Lighter and yeaster.
Compared to Humble Forager Pin Seeker Pils 5/2023: Pours darker, milder head. Milder aromas. More vinous yeast and smooth bread malts. Less bitter flower. Sweeter and heavier.
Compared to Fair State Pils 5/2023: Pours similar, milder head. More yeast, bread. Less lemon citrus. More bitter notes too. Will compare again.
Overall: Fresh off the shelf from New Glarus with this "new German Pils. This one is floral, yeasty, and bitter. Has a characteric sudsy yeasty flavor that many New Glarus beers have, so probably the same yeast. Better than I expected and I'd pick this over their Spotted Cow, Totally Naked, or Two Women Lager. Floral, bitter, and very nice. (Rating: 4.11)

Great Pils! This reminds me a lot of Mistral, which was a Thumbprint series. Outstanding and very drinkable with a low ABV.

Good carbonation as I pour. Beautiful pale color with steady white foam. The smell is crisp with noble hops, earthy, spicy and fragrant. Crystal clear, white foam holds for a few. Aroma is beautiful with hop, slightly bready, grassy, cracker like. First sip and Bam, I am back in northern Germany. Hops are on par with a Northern German Pils (Jever, Schonrammer). Fresh and crisp with a ton of drinkability. This will be a mainstay as long as I can find it. Great Job Dan and Deb!
