Notes / Commercial Description:
Severe Drought, we shared the farmer’s horror as Wisconsin’s cherry crop failed! Dan bought what cherries he could. The Apple crop fared better. Then joy! A grand Wisconsin cranberry harvest. What will Dan brew with Apples, Cranberries and Cherries? Oh my! You hold the happy accident of Wisconsin’s favorite fruit aged in oak with an almost magical wild fermentation. Serendipity is a wondrous celebration that sparkles your senses and dances across your palate. A kaleidoscope of flavor discovered by accident in a sour ale!

Cheers to the unexpected.

750 ml bottle. Had this one along with Raspberry Tart, not sure which one I liked best bc they were both delicious. The apples really stood out in this one with plenty cherry in the background. Not too sweet and not too tart, just about perfect in that arena. One of the best fruit beers I've had so far.

New Glarus makes the best fruit beers on the planet, I think, because it knows how to sweeten a sour style.
So it is with Serendipity.
I find that many people who may not enjoy craft brews (particularly wine-drinking females) like this beer. I call it a "conversion beer."

This is the perfect complement to many different types of fruit pies in the summer. And if you like ice cream on your slice, Serendipity's carbonation also cuts through the butter fat. Also flexible enough to try at Thanksgiving, Serendipity complements cranberries and dry turkey.
And try this: leave some in the bottle overnight. When you come down to make your morning coffee, take the remaining swig. It clears the palate like a champ.

If you go to Wisconsin (the only state New Glarus distributes in), get a supply of all New Glarus' fruit beers. I am a big fan of many of their other styles as well. Consider a sampler box. You will understand how the 20th largest American craft brewer has won over so much of Wisconsin's 1% of the U.S. population... along with border-lopers like me.

L: Translucent maroon, auburn, and burgundy hues with a generous white, fluffy head
S: Macintosh and Fiji apples with a distinctive cranberry cocktail aroma
T: Initial burst of Montmorency cherries swiftly met by a sweet blend of apples and cranberries and hints of cocoa
F: Medium body with a slightly dry finish
O: Another expertly crafted fruit beer by the masters in the game, New Glarus. This is a rich and flavorful beer with subtle sweetness and huge fruit flavors. Very enjoyable.
