Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.00%

Notes / Commercial Description:
Severe Drought, we shared the farmer’s horror as Wisconsin’s cherry crop failed! Dan bought what cherries he could. The Apple crop fared better. Then joy! A grand Wisconsin cranberry harvest. What will Dan brew with Apples, Cranberries and Cherries? Oh my! You hold the happy accident of Wisconsin’s favorite fruit aged in oak with an almost magical wild fermentation. Serendipity is a wondrous celebration that sparkles your senses and dances across your palate. A kaleidoscope of flavor discovered by accident in a sour ale!

Cheers to the unexpected.

The tartness of the cranberries and cherries shine through on this one. Can't taste the alcohol at all. Overall a very good fruit beer.

25 oz. bottle into a tulip glass

A - Beer pours a 2 finger off white/light khaki head that is frothy with just a hint of a creamy appearance to it. Head dissipates quickly at first but levels off to a thin creamy a layer. Beer itself is a deep ruby color and clear with light to moderate carbonation rising moderately paced towards the surface. 4.25/5

S - The aroma is a combination of sweet cherries, tart cranberries, raspberry jam, and a light sweet apple juice. A very light maltiness acts as an undertone to the fruity aromas. Somewhat medicinal but not as much as the Belgian Red that New Glares puts out. 4/5

T - Apple juice hits my tongue right off the bat which transitions to a sweet raspberry jam note. The raspberry and apple act in concert for a time before allowing the cranberries to play a part. The cranberries comes in initially as sweet but then the tartness creeps in a bit before slight vanilla and malt undertones come into view. A sweet apple juice comes back into focus for the finale just prior to a dry tartness takes center stage to truly finish things off. 4.25/5

M - Moderate carbonation burn up front lends this beer a light crispness to it. Light bodied, almost juicy in nature with a soda pop fizziness to it. Slightly drying on the back end but this does not linger on the palate. 4.25/5

O - Excellent balance between apples, raspberries, and cherries. Each flavor has its own dry/wet/tart/sweet qualities and this beer allows each to shine on its own and in concert with one another. 4.25/5

Although Belgian Red gets more love from the crowds... I'd prefer serendipity in this taste test. More sour than sweet, everything done right

Pours a nice big two finger plus head of dark tan color, good density with a swirl of bigger bubbles at the point of pour, retention is decent, the lacing is meager but what’s there is thick and sticks okay. Cherry wood colored liquid, clear if dark, high sheen to it, hardly any visible bubbles. The nose is pure pie, all cherry, apricot, apple scents with honey glazed crust and a strong accompanying floral mist, at times there is a vinous astringency, however the concentration of the sweet fruit wins out. In the mouth it’s medium-bodied with more foaming action and persistent carbonation than expected. Mixes in orange zest and cinnamon to nutmeg to that base of cherry, cranberry, apple flavors, the fruit ripe yet with snap and zestiness. The yeastiness remains but less of the honeyed aspect. This is just pure refreshment, if you find the fruit flavors agreeable, at 4% you can down a 750ML bottle in record time. Nothing more to say, it’s not a brew for analysis but for simple enjoyment.

Poured from the bottle into a wine glass. Huge fruit aromas, as expected. Overall this was a bit too sweet for me but the flavor profile of the fruits was excellent. Interesting brew.

Pours a dark burgundy color with a thin, fleeting pink head. Aroma is fantastic. Smells and tastes just like the label describes...a combination of excessive cranberries, apple and raspberry. Very light in body. This could very well be a juice cocktail. I really enjoyed the taste but certainly did not feel like I was drinking beer. Having said that, it is delicious!

25oz bottle. No bottle/code date. Appearance: Deep ruby red/brown with a pinkish white foam cap and nice lacing. Aroma: Tart apple and cranberry most prominent, along with some cherry. Taste: Cherry and apple sweetness upfront, blending into cranberry with a distinct tartness. Mouthfeel: Medium body with a light carbonation. Finish: Dry and tart, with lingering cranberry. Overall: World class fruit beer. Beautiful blend of the Apple, cranberry and cherry for complexity, with a light tartness from the fermentation to contrast the fruit sweetness. A perfect desert beer.
