Notes / Commercial Description:
Severe Drought, we shared the farmer’s horror as Wisconsin’s cherry crop failed! Dan bought what cherries he could. The Apple crop fared better. Then joy! A grand Wisconsin cranberry harvest. What will Dan brew with Apples, Cranberries and Cherries? Oh my! You hold the happy accident of Wisconsin’s favorite fruit aged in oak with an almost magical wild fermentation. Serendipity is a wondrous celebration that sparkles your senses and dances across your palate. A kaleidoscope of flavor discovered by accident in a sour ale!

Cheers to the unexpected.

Bright, blended, sweet and tart. Always a little wary when cherries are involved - the flavors can run the gamut from faintly sweet to cough syrupy. Throw in cranberry and apple and it's a total unknown. Simply put - this beer is a pleasure. Like a cran-apple-cherry beer that's eminently drinkable and shines when served on a hot day.

Pours a dark rouge with a nice one finger head. Aroma is fresh cut apples, raspberry, jammy fruit and light malt. Taste is like cran-apple juice with more effervescence, green apple-tartness, malt, light woodiness. Drinks so easily - crisp, clean and lightly tart. Great beer with an ABV that lends itself to finishing the 750ml bottle on your own.

Poured from a 750ml bottle into a pint glass. Pours a lightly hazy cran-apple juice colored body with a two finger off white head that reduces to leave frothy lacing and a layer of retention.

Aromas are straight fruit punch, literally. On the tongue is more fruit punch. Juicy juice. Apple cranberry and cherry.. straight fruit punch, refreshing and light.

Pretty one dimensional fruit, but that's what they were going for and they nailed it.

Poured into a tulip.

Appearance: ruby-brown – brown with considerable haze.

Aroma: apples and raspberries (60/40). There is no funk, just a light jammy fruit aroma. The apple aroma reminds me of Fall.

Flavor: sweet, but very good. This would make for a wonderful desert beer. The flavor reminds me of liquid lilac. As in the nose, the fruit leans more toward a 60/40 apple:raspberry. I can’t say if I’d pick up any of the cranberry without them being referenced on the beer label, but they are there. Drinking this makes me want more. This beer does become increasingly sweet the more you drink, and borders on the too-sweet by the time you’ve finished the bottle.

Mouthfeel: light-medium; a 750ml is easily a one person pursuit.

Overall: very tasty. New Glarus has mastered the fruit beers. This is a sweeter beer, like Lindemans, but very worthwhile. However, in order, I’d prefer NG’s Belgian Red and Raspberry Tart.

Poured from 750 mL bottle into cervoise.
A: Pours a nice dark garnet with 1-2 inch tan head with good retention.
S: Apple (immediately makes me think of apple pie) hits first followed quickly by cherry and cranberry. Smells like you are about to enjoy a wondrous pie.
T: Cherry hits first, then cranberry emerges, followed by apple. Nice easy transitions between the notes. Then, they all take turns coming forward again after their initial appearances.
M: Light body. Sweet with some mild tartness. Lingers nicely on the palate.
D: Another amazing fruit beer from New Glarus! They certainly are dialed in on the style...they keep crankin' the homers out.
