Style: Fruit / Vegetable Beer

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.00%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
Severe Drought, we shared the farmer’s horror as Wisconsin’s cherry crop failed! Dan bought what cherries he could. The Apple crop fared better. Then joy! A grand Wisconsin cranberry harvest. What will Dan brew with Apples, Cranberries and Cherries? Oh my! You hold the happy accident of Wisconsin’s favorite fruit aged in oak with an almost magical wild fermentation. Serendipity is a wondrous celebration that sparkles your senses and dances across your palate. A kaleidoscope of flavor discovered by accident in a sour ale!

Cheers to the unexpected.

Simply delicious! Strong and sweet fruit but never cloying or artificial. I get a myriad of flavors from dark cherries, cranberries, plum, raspberries, fig, Apple juice and a white wine. It seems almost inappropriate to call it beer as it holds a champagne, wine and cider quality.

Look: Poured a deep red color with a finger and a half of off white head. Leaving behind great lacing in my snifter.

Smell: Smells of apples, cherries and cranberries with a slight hint of woodiness to it. One minute it seems to be more apple forward but then changes to more cherry/cranberry forward upon agitation.

Taste: The taste follows the nose to a T. Apples, cherries and cranberries with a bit of woodiness . Very nice tartness to the beer that keeps me going back for another sip.

Feel: Nice sticky feeling with a medium amount of carbonation. The carbonation cleans your palate so nicely that you will want another sip.

Overall: Another awesome fruit beer from New Glarus. One of my favorite beers. If you can get your hands on this beer, you should buy multiple bottles.

Poured from 750 ml bottle into Jester King glass.

A: Pours a clear deep crimson red with two finger dense white head that lasted a couple minutes. A thin layer hanging around on top for quite a while longer. Some nice sticky lacing.

S: Slightly tart cherries and cranberries. There is a subtle oak and earthy funk lingering around in the back.

T: Very nice blend of fruit flavors - apple, cherry, and cranberry. I was expecting it to be very sweet or very sour but was pleasantly surprised. Just a touch of tartness and some subtle sweetness.

M: Medium body and plenty of carbonation. Mouthfeel reminds me a little of a sparkling wine. Drinks a little more like champagne than a beer.

O: Very nice fruit beer. Easy drinking and refreshing. Perfect for a nice warm spring day on the back patio.

Cherry Apple cider, smell is bursting With the fruit. Not overly sweet, almost woody. Excellent fruit beer drinks more like a champagne

Pours a beautiful cherry/cranberry color red. The nose is bramble and evocative of spring days out in the fields. This is such a great beer that it really does bring a lot of memories and thoughts to mind. Outstanding! The cherry and apple elements shine through, with a complexity to the fruit blend and the lively carbonation. The body is full without being too slick or sickly.
