Notes / Commercial Description:
Severe Drought, we shared the farmer’s horror as Wisconsin’s cherry crop failed! Dan bought what cherries he could. The Apple crop fared better. Then joy! A grand Wisconsin cranberry harvest. What will Dan brew with Apples, Cranberries and Cherries? Oh my! You hold the happy accident of Wisconsin’s favorite fruit aged in oak with an almost magical wild fermentation. Serendipity is a wondrous celebration that sparkles your senses and dances across your palate. A kaleidoscope of flavor discovered by accident in a sour ale!

Cheers to the unexpected.

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip to a deep reddish brown topped by a dense two finger liight tan head that fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass
S: Smells of sour cherries, some apple, and a little tart cranberry. Slight malt in the very back as well
T: Taste is a nice blend of cherries, apples and some tart cranberry along with that hint of malt and a touch of oak. Very balanced fruit flavor going on. Swallow is more tart cherries, apples and cranberries with some slight oak on the finish.
M: This beer is on the lighter side of medium with effervescent carbonation that is just under prickly and a slightly dry finish.
O: New Glarus is probably the king when it comes to fruit beers. Great fruit flavors although not the most complex. These taste the most genuine to me until we get into fruited sours. These really let the fruit shine while the sours let it play a supporting role. Definitely one to try and I'm happy they have made it a regular offering.

A fruited sour ale. Poured from a 750ml bottle. In the crimson, red palate for color. White head maintains with some lacing. Aroma and taste follow each, with apple at the core, with cherry for some sweetness and cranberry for the sour. Fills the nose and mouth with fruit flavors. Very flavorful. Can be sampled as either a sour or as a dessert beer.

Sampled through the efforts of BA Vixie to find a bottle, thanks!

Hazy reddish brown colored ale with a medium sized tan colored head.

Smells fruity and tart. Raspberry jumps right up and bites you on the nose. Cranberry is the sour part. Scent of cherries even though they aren't supposed to be in this one. Scent of apple skins. No idea what crab apples smell like but I assume that is the apple note. There is a whiff of tannin here as if from a used tea bag. Overall it is a pleasant sweet tart fruit scent.

Starts out sweet and tart and fruity. It is rather sweet but the sour and tartness reins it in wonderfully. Raspberry is the strongest flavor. Cranberry is detected but not anywhere as strong as raspberry. Apple is detectable as a cider flavor but isn't near as strong as the raspberry. Slight bitterness but it isn't a major flavor element.

Mouthfeel is good.

Overall very tasty and refreshing. One of the best from New Glarus.

Pours an unflattering murky auburn color with a quickly dissipating head. Nose is sweet (real) cherries, tart unripe raspberry, and definitely cranberry. Never really got the apple. Its one of those beers where you can't tell how tart it will end up being, but they nailed it right down the middle. Semi-sweet cherries with a nice tart cranberry kick to it. Apples lend the sweetness. Clean and crisp profile. Carbonation is spot on despite the look of this thing. Overall a solid beer and easy sipper.
