Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.00%

Notes / Commercial Description:
Severe Drought, we shared the farmer’s horror as Wisconsin’s cherry crop failed! Dan bought what cherries he could. The Apple crop fared better. Then joy! A grand Wisconsin cranberry harvest. What will Dan brew with Apples, Cranberries and Cherries? Oh my! You hold the happy accident of Wisconsin’s favorite fruit aged in oak with an almost magical wild fermentation. Serendipity is a wondrous celebration that sparkles your senses and dances across your palate. A kaleidoscope of flavor discovered by accident in a sour ale!

Cheers to the unexpected.

Poured into a tulip.

Appearance: ruby-brown – brown with considerable haze.

Aroma: apples and raspberries (60/40). There is no funk, just a light jammy fruit aroma. The apple aroma reminds me of Fall.

Flavor: sweet, but very good. This would make for a wonderful desert beer. The flavor reminds me of liquid lilac. As in the nose, the fruit leans more toward a 60/40 apple:raspberry. I can’t say if I’d pick up any of the cranberry without them being referenced on the beer label, but they are there. Drinking this makes me want more. This beer does become increasingly sweet the more you drink, and borders on the too-sweet by the time you’ve finished the bottle.

Mouthfeel: light-medium; a 750ml is easily a one person pursuit.

Overall: very tasty. New Glarus has mastered the fruit beers. This is a sweeter beer, like Lindemans, but very worthwhile. However, in order, I’d prefer NG’s Belgian Red and Raspberry Tart.

Poured from 750 mL bottle into cervoise.
A: Pours a nice dark garnet with 1-2 inch tan head with good retention.
S: Apple (immediately makes me think of apple pie) hits first followed quickly by cherry and cranberry. Smells like you are about to enjoy a wondrous pie.
T: Cherry hits first, then cranberry emerges, followed by apple. Nice easy transitions between the notes. Then, they all take turns coming forward again after their initial appearances.
M: Light body. Sweet with some mild tartness. Lingers nicely on the palate.
D: Another amazing fruit beer from New Glarus! They certainly are dialed in on the style...they keep crankin' the homers out.

Not a huge fruit beer guy but enjoyed this one. Opening the 750mL bottle releases tons of delicious smells into the air-- such a fragrant beer! Pours a nice maroon color with an off-white head that leaves a bit of lacing. Once in a glass the aroma is more apparent-- Apples and cherries come through most strongly. Taste is delicious-- very fruity and sweet with a heavy feel on the tongue. Finishes a bit tart-- the cranberries really kick in at this point. Overall, a wonderful sunny Saturday afternoon kind of beer. As far as fruit beers go, this is the best I've had to date--lots of sweetness with a bit of sour.

This beer is beautiful. Bright and clear ruby red with an off white head that leaves a nice little ring and laces lightly. An equal blend of apple, cherry, and cranberry showcase the aroma. Reminds me of Martinelli's cranberry cider at Christmas time. Flavor is equally as wonderful, with cherry in the forefront and the Apple to finish it off with a mild and pleasant tartness. Feel is light enough to guzzle, yet just rich enough to savor. Tartness lingers and ends dry. Overall, this truly is a remarkable fruit beer and was thoroughly enjoyed and would be welcomed anytime. Cheers!

Clear red/burgundy pour with an ivory head, looks like cranberry juice with some head
Smells strongly of sweet fruit, cherries, apple, cranberry present
Refreshingly tart, not a complete sour bomb, tastes of cranberries, slight apple not much cherry present
Light with perfect carbonation, dry finish
