Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.00%

Notes / Commercial Description:
Severe Drought, we shared the farmer’s horror as Wisconsin’s cherry crop failed! Dan bought what cherries he could. The Apple crop fared better. Then joy! A grand Wisconsin cranberry harvest. What will Dan brew with Apples, Cranberries and Cherries? Oh my! You hold the happy accident of Wisconsin’s favorite fruit aged in oak with an almost magical wild fermentation. Serendipity is a wondrous celebration that sparkles your senses and dances across your palate. A kaleidoscope of flavor discovered by accident in a sour ale!

Cheers to the unexpected.

Thanks to Atoneworks for the trade that allowed me to try this outstanding beer. Pours a hazy ruby red with a quickly dissipating thick white head. Decent lacing. Wonderful fruit aroma, lots of cherry and red apple. Strong apple on the palate balanced nicely by the tartness of cherry and cranberry. If fall had a taste, this would be it! The sweetness at the front gives way to a pleasing tart, slightly dry finish. Complex. Light bodied with good carbonation. Overall, this is an extremely well crafted beer that is not just one of the finest fruit beers I've ever had - it's one of the finest beers I've ever had. Keep up the outstanding work New Glarus.

Mouthfeel

Pleasantly sweet, Serendipity walks a fine line, cautious not to step onto the cloying side, carefully balanced by spritzy carbonation, a lighter body, and a mildly tart, dry finish. Lingering flavors on the tongue beg for another sip, and another sip, and so on.

Overall

If you’ve experienced Belgian Red and Raspberry Tart, you’ll find yourself in quite a familiar realm with Serendipity but, this beer doesn’t only piggy back on their successes, it flourishes with new and delicious fruit experiences! Serendipity proves, once again, Dan Carey is an expert brewer of fruit beer. Pick this one up without hesitation and be rewarded by it’s delicious fruit complexity for this beer, without question, will be another award-winning beer from New Glarus.

Look - Looks like cranberry juice with a frothy, foamy head

Smell - Very strong fruit smell. Cranberry and sweet apples.

Taste - Like drinking fruit juice. Sweet in a natural way, sour cherries, sweet apples, and an undertone of cranberries that stays with you.

Feel - Smooth, light, very low carbonation.

Overall - Amazing fruit beer.

Thanks to DarkMagneto for this one:

A - this one pours a ruby amber in color with ample fizzy fluffy head and solid lacing

S - cherry, cherry purée, cordial cherry, green apple, a bit of apple sauce, sour patch kids

T - cherry tart to the utmost; Serendipity tastes like a massive cherry tart bomb on apple-grape steroids; maybe a touch of cinnamon; a deliciously tart juice

M - this one has some serious tart pucker combined with perfect notes of sugar sweetness and the right amount of bite and fizz

O - serendipidelicious. Honestly, this is an awesome fruit beer and a perfectly complimentary offering along with Belgian Red and Wisconsin.

Pour is a super murky dark brown, mahagony hue. Small off white colored ring of head with nice lacing. Aroma is a big bouquet of apples, smells almost like apple juice with a cranberry tartness in the background. Following the nose well, the taste is like dessert. Apples, apple pie crust with hints of cranberries with an even more sweet crust in the back end. Mouthfeel is surprisingly thick and decadent. Nothing overly complex, nice, not too sweet and straight to the point.
