L: A dark red, hazy body with a thin, almost pink head. Right off the bat, the look of this beer took me my surprise - it almost looks like strawberries out of a juicer.

S: What a wonderful smell! Fresh strawberry pie, strawberry preserves, fresh-picked rhubarb and strawberry from the garden.

T: The taste follows up the nose perfectly with a massive strawberry and rhubarb explosion. The carbonation is perfect, and it feels like scooping the freshest strawberry preserves you can find into your mouth with each sip.

F: Again, the carbonation was spot on and it left me wanting more after each sip. The body was a tad thicker than I expected, but it made beer better in my opinion - as it seems like they were going for liquefied strawberry pie (they nailed it).

O: This is definitely a beer I will seek out time and time again. New Glarus has always done exceptional things with fruited beers, and this one may take the cake for me. What an excellent offering!

Wow. What a great beer.

Hazy red color. Nice head that reduces to a thin ring that stays.

Smell has strong fermented strawberries.

Taste is exceptional. Strawberry starts with the rhubarb finish. Excellent taste t the style.

Nice carbonation in the beer. Finishes crisp.

Overall this is excellent.

Is this my favorite New Glarus beer of all time? Possibly. Definitely my favorite of the fruit series beers. Even more rad now that they have it in 12 oz bottles. Appearance isn't the sexiest of sexy, its a muddled rust color essentially, brown and dark burnt coppery red, very little 1/5" like head. Aroma is tart, plenty of strawberry pushing its weight around.

Taste, yum, the tart and bitter rhubarb play well with the strawberry sweetness. Balanced and layered, just like the pie. Very easy drinking, there is also a mild undercurrent of caramel to it. This succeeds in that it is the most sour and tart of their fruit beers. Things like Raspberry Tart I thought would be better if they had a more amped up sour game like this beer has. Simply a classic beer.

2014 vintage from waxed bottle. Looks pretty abysmal out of the bottle (muddled brown color) but has an immediate strong aroma of strawberries and baking spices. Taste follows with a boatload of sweet berry flavors, like pie without the crust.

Looks like a less red tomato juice, pretty good lacing. Strong strawberry and rhubarb scents, nice tang. Big fruity taste, lives up to its name. Very smooth and easy to drink. I love their fruit beers.

From a Growler from Ken out of Denver. Cloudy brown pour, no long lasting foam. Smells malty with oodles of strawberry that isn’t implying a whole lot of tartness. Tastes match the taste. Only a hint from the Rhubarb but the caramel, which resembles mild oxidation, and the strawberry carries the weight nicely. Thanks again Ken!

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 9/8/2017. Pours very hazy deep ruby/pink/brown color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of huge strawberry jam, rhubarb, red grape, wheat, cracker, brown sugar, brown bread, and light herbal. Incredible aromas with awesome balance of strawberry, rhubarb, and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of huge strawberry jam, rhubarb, red grape, wheat, cracker, brown sugar, brown bread, and light herbal. Light herbal bitterness and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of strawberry jam, rhubarb, red grape, wheat, cracker, brown sugar, and brown bread on the finish for a while. Incredible robustness and balance of strawberry, rhubarb, and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/tang/tartness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Slightly drying from fruit tang/tartness. Medium-high carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly acidic/tannic/tangy balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4%. Overall this is an amazing fruit beer! All around incredible robustness and balance of strawberry, rhubarb, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the balanced tart/tangy fruit finish. Unbelievable levels of fruit presence, with nice malt balance to keep it drinkable. Tastes like a jar of Smucker’s jam as a beer. A highly enjoyable offering.

2017 vintage; drank 7/16/17 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque red/purple appearance; champagne bubbles throughout.

A rough pour yielded a huge, noisy off-white/pink head; strong, frothy tree-rung lace.

Strawberry jam & honeyed wheat notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Strawberry jam & mildly bitter rhubarb flavors up front; a mildly tart finish. Honeyed wheat notes emerged as this warmed.

Balanced, fruity & delicious; I was blown away. I wish I had 20 more in the cellar....
