A great town to visit with an amazing brewing Company! You will love the town. You will really love the beer and you will miss the beer once you are not in Wisconsin. I have family in wisconsin to keep me stocked up!

Each beer they make you can tell is made with love and art! They make more lagers then Ales so that may throw some people off. But its Wisconsin so it makes sense.

Dan knows and loves beer and he shows it with each beer that comes out. Even the beers you may not like you enjoy trying them becuase how well made they are!

Great atmosphere, the people here are very friendly and helpful. The whole brewery is free for visitors to watch, even the bottling line. The output of this brewery is astounding, and yet they still maintain a small-town vibe. This was a great visit, can't wait to come back.

The New Glarus brewery is a stunning facility, from the gorgeous copper brew kettles to the sparkling clean tasting room. It looks like there are usually about six beers on tap with A couple often devoted to their specialty brews. The outdoor beer garden is lovely. The self-guided tour, while a bit limited, still offers a nice look at their amazing facility. Great beer and an excellent bottle shop. The gift shop is a touch over the top.

Last year I took the road trip by myself and this year I brought a friend along for the ride. We live near Philly and the drive is 15+ hours but every single second is worth it. New Glarus is one of the most beautiful breweries (and one of the most beautiful places) in the United states. The biergarten is gorgeous and has sweeping views of the Wisconsin countryside to go with a cold pour of whatever is on tap. The beer selection that is on at any given time is small considering their huge portfolio of offerings but the gift shop and beer depot always have plenty of other goodies for take out. The vibe is friendly and the staff is very knowledgeable about their brand and the brews that they hand out. A neat little plus is that after you buy beer for on-site consumption, you are allowed to keep the glass that it came in. I would definitely encourage everyone to take the trip in whatever way they can. Totally worth it.

As many have stated, the layout and beer garden area is fantastic. Perfect place to enjoy a couple locally crafted beers. However, the selection is weak. Any bar or gas station in Wisconsin sells the same exact beers, in fact the bars in town in New Glarus have more NG beers on tap then them. No food is available other than snacks from the gift shop. The beer mustard from the shop is excellent! It was definitely cool to check out, but not sure if I'll be back anytime soon. If I lived in the near vicinity, eg Madison, this would be cool to check out once a month or so, but it's not worth a 2 hour trip, esp when they close at 5pm.

Thoroughly enjoyed my brief stop into the brewery while on a recent road trip and realized that Id be within an hour of New Glarus. The facility grounds had great views and a lot of outdoor seating for enjoying samples from the tasting room. The beer depot and gift shop both had great selections. Unfortunately, I did not have time to take a brewery tour. Well worth a stop if you're in the area.

I need to preface this by saying I love NGB and their beer. ..that said visiting the brewery is a mixed bag. The positives: NG beer, fresh; prompt, friendly, knowledgeable service; drop dead gorgeous setting, on a hillside overlooking rolling green hills of S central WI (others comparisons to a winery feel are apt).

The negatives: very limited selection -nothing you cannot find at virtually any liquor or grocery store in WI (was hoping for some limited releases our one-offs); you have to buy a glass with your first beer ($8, and refills are $5.50).

So while it is great to visit and see, it's not a great place to just grab a beer and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I'd love to be able to drop in for a fresh pint without being forced to purchase another pilsner glass. That said, if you're from out of town, or just want to see it, go. Definitely. I just feel repeat visits aren't necessary.

It's remote. The brewery sits on a hill overlooking the tiny town of the same name. It has a large outdoor seating area with views that rival most wineries we've visited. On the downside, there isn't much shade so bring your sunscreen. Most if not all of the tables can accommodate umbrellas, not sure why they don't have them.

It's touristy but not cheesy. If you visit on a Saturday during the summer like we did, come soon after they open to beat the crowds. The self-guided tour isn't much of a tour. You basically make a big loop down one hallway and up another. Equipment is labeled--sort of--but it would be nice to have some plaques or signs describing what you're seeing. The gift shop has some interesting swag but nothing you haven't seen a dozen times before.

On the day we visited, they were not serving any food. All beers were being dispensed from a small counter out on the patio. (They do have an indoor tasting room but it was closed.) A line quickly formed by the counter but thankfully they opened another counter on the opposite side of the patio. You have to purchase drink tickets and I have to say, $8/pint seemed a little steep given that all they had on tap were staples that, as others have indicated, you can purchase at pretty much any liquor/grocery/convenience store in Wisconsin. Sure, you get to keep your glass, and refills are $5.50 (except for the fruit beers) but still.

That being said, we mainly came for the scenery and the ambiance, and on that New Glarus excels. Their beer is pretty good too.

The outdoor facility is second to none. Great Wiews of rolling hills in farmland Wisconsin fro a high bluff. We're inviting seats with a variety of table and chairs as well as stone benches. Out door beer serving area as well. The quality of beer is outstanding. The fruit beer is world class. I think they only had 6 different beers on tap, and lacked a stout. I went during the recent R&D promotion that was run perfectly. Very friendly people, but not all are knowledgeable. This is one you must visit once!
