Had on draft at the official Kneitinger tap on Arnulfsplatz in Regensburg.

Handsomely presented in a short-stemmed tall glass. Dark chestnut (perhaps a hair darker than their Dunkel) with a creamy white head. Aroma displays a good amount of dark malt with come caramel notes. Not too strong on the palate. Definitely not as in-your-face malty as a doppelbock. Creamy, and drinkable. Really just feels like a slightly stronger, slightly more flavorful version of their Dunkel.

500ml bottle. Mindestens haltbar bis: 07.09.11.

It pours a beautiful deep reddish brown with a foamy, billowing tan head that lasts for a while and leaves some nice lacing.

The smell is sweet and fruity. The knowledge of a caramel bomb is imminent.

The flavor is sweet and alcoholic but it has a nice roastiness to it that brings some balance. Despite its sweetness it has a body and aftertaste that fosters easy-drinking.

Overall a solid dunkeler Bock.

I got this bottle from fellow BA jamesw during a hookup at the Hofbräu tent during this years Oktoberfest. Freshness dating says best before 02MAR11.

This bock is a deep, clear, rich chestnut color; a supremely beauteous hue! There's some steady, even carbo rising within, and the head is a thin, tan layer of tight, creamy froth. Despite the healthy head, there's little lacework. Aroma has some enticing toffee and caramel notes, the malt being quite beckoning. Solidly medium in body, this bier is very smooth when heading down the hatch.

Once you start to quaff, more malty magic is laid upon the palate. Toffee, caramel, and hints of dark fruit mix together to create a solid bock. Hopping here is quite light, though still detectable, with some subtle floral notes blending in. Malt gets a bit more pronounced as the bier warms, yet in never gets cloying at all. A solid, well-made bock!!! Many thnx to jamesw for this tasty offering!! Prosit!!!

Color is dark brown to amber-red with hints of orange in the light. Aroma is typical Pils/Münchner malt, very sweet with caramel forward, a slight citrusy/lemony aroma... a hint of hops in the nose, too. It's 6.5%.
In the initial drink you can taste the alcohol on the front of the tongue, a very slight burning sensation all over the tongue. It's very caramel & malt forward in taste, slightly sour in the back with not a strong but noticeable bitterness from Noble hops - in the back and aftertaste only, though. The mouthfeel is thick and süffig, inviting you to drink more. It comes across a little like a caramel and beer flavored brandy. On the sides of the tongue I get black or deeply roasted malt bitterness, too. Overall, very good, very süffig, like drinking a malt, caramel, alcohol induced candy.
