Pours a clear pale ywllow with fine, high head.

Smell is clean and crisp with bready notes and hints of citrus and a bit of knäckebröd and butter.

Taste is crisp and crackery with a bit of fruitiness. Slightly yeasty with notes of citrus, buttered popcorn and rye. Moderate bitterness.

Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.

Overall, a good pilsner, a little bit too unclean.

1.85 euros (including tax) for a 0.5L fliptop at the stop ‘n’ rob in the Hauptbahnhof in Bamberg.
Fliptop dated 12.11.17 in the stop ‘n ‘ rob cooler, whatever that temp is. Served in a 0.2 L kolsh glass at whatever temp it was when I got back to the hotel (0.6 k walk) – below room temperature and definitely cooler than outside.
Aroma – light grain and flowery hops.
Head – enormous. Most of the glass is white low density head which has average retention time. It diminishes to a very uneven and frothy ring and a partial layer leaving excellent lacing as it withdraws.
Lacing – complete, very irregular frothy lacing varying from tiny to average bubble size and stalgmites.
Body – light yellow, clear
Flavor – weak graininess and slight hop bitterness. No alcohol, no diacetyl.
Palate – light, watery, soft carbonation.
A very average pleasant pilsner. Nothing to write home about.

Appearance 4.25, Aroma 3.5, Flavor 3.5, Palate 3.5, Overall 3.5.

From the bottle, it pours a light golden color with a nice head that lasts a bit. Lacing clings to the sides as you enjoy it. Some hops in the nose. ...and mouth. yum!

2024 update: yum!

Poured a huge, creamy, bright white head that faded quickly leaving thin strings of lace. Potent herbal/noble hop aroma with a nice bite. Transparent sunshine colored beer holds a few streams of tiny bubbles. Light crisp mouthfeel that finishes smooth. Light pale malt flavor with floral notes a drop of lemon underneath. A nice smooth Pils. Give it a try.

BB 23-03-07. Nice appearance with pale golden clear beer and well lasting thick white head. Nose is for a pils quiet estery giving aple and banana with some sharp yeastnote. some maltyness there but bit of cardboard also. Taste is buttermalts and moderate bitterness but full and overall certainly not bad. Bitterness bit hanging but overall balanced and fitting carbonisation. Enjoyable brew IMO.
