7/10/09 Edit: Wow, this place keeps going downhill. It's not about the beer (and only 5 on tap), but about cheap drinks and bombers for the college crowd. Loud music, pool playing, and surly bartenders didn't make for a good beer experience.

Yep, watched the transformation from brewpub to sports bar. Went there Saturday, early evening after a Cardinal game. Very nice ambiance to start, a casual dining experience in an older decorated brick/oak setting. The 5 tap beers were good, and offered a fairly large range - from a Golden Pilsners to a Irish Stout. Pints were $3.75 and a 20oz. (in a TALL mug) was $4.25.

Pizza was fantastic, and my smoke house turkey sandwich was delicious and filling. But now, around 8pm the place is filling with college guys, all sucking on those bombers of crap lite, heading upstairs to play pool - getting loud and obnoxious. Time to go

Very easy to find in the Laclede Landing section of St. Louis, I was excited to visit this brewpub. The canned beer is excellent, and I had high hopes. At the restaurant, however, I was somewhat disappointed. The beer selection was a nice, but limited mix of mostly German styles. The Helles and the Maibock were both respectable and tasty. But, whereas the beer was solid, the food, atmosphere, and service were all substandard. First, although they were not busy, waitstaff stood by chatting, rather than seating my family for several minutes. The service was then slow, inattentive, and mostly disinterested. Beer was served out of a clearly chipped glass. The food was acceptable pub fare, but, frankly, on par with most chain casual dining restaurants.
I liked the good beer, but I won't be going back again to eat.
