This twist on our Weizenheimer is brewed with ginger, lemon grass & kafir lime leaves. What we have here is a refreshing summer wheat beer.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a hazy orange with a small head. Nose is very soft, pleasantly spiced with a light orange/peach. Mouth is very pleasantly fluffy, focusing on peaches, orange zest. Spices are nicely integrated, the lime leaf is really interesting, gives a numbing sensation. I didn't try the base version of this but the Thai spiced one was unusually nicely integrated, fluffy, and refreshing.

Poured from a bomber into a pint glass.
Pours a light yellow color with some white foam. Very little lacing. Smells light and wheat, some citrus. Lightnmalt flavor backed with lime and grass. Ginger too. The whole thing is oddly disconcerting and doesn't quite work. The ginger annoys me.
I tend to like everything from PBC, but this one did not work for me.

Thanks to dpuia for sharing this bomber on 10/31/11.
A - Poured a cloudy golden liquid with a thick dollop of pouffy white foam on top that reduced to distribute some spotty lacing around the glass.
S - Initial whiff reveals a bold citrus nose with lime and lemongrass at the helm, followed by exotic Thai spices reminiscent of those found in lighter Thai cuisine dishes. The light bready malt and bright leafy, citrusy hop character indicates that this should be a crisp, refreshing beer.
T - The lime character is prevalent from the get-so, giving the flavor a uniquely citrusy character overall. Spicy notes appear in the middle and are accompanied by lemongrass and light grassy hops. Finishes with a distinct bready malt character.
M - Light bodied with crisp, peppy carbonation and a hint of syrupy texture. Light on the palate with minimal hop bitterness.
D - Thaizenheimer is a great light summer thirst-quencher with lots of citrusy flavor. I'd have this again!
