What a cozy little place! Mixed in a pretty residential neighborhood is Supermoon Beer Company, which can be tough to spot from the street. Look for a small wooden patio which has been built onto the street and you know that you are there. There's decent street parking on Howell and you shouldn't need to walk far.
The best part here is the atmosphere. Just enough natural daylight coming in during the afternoon, very cozy feel without feeling too small, "L" shaped bar with 8 or 9 seats, and going further inside yields more room and more seating. There's a little outdoor seating on the street, but even on a warm, sunny afternoon, I sat inside because I felt that comfortable.
Rustic farmhouse ale is Supermoon's theme, and most of their beer which they brew is of the style. Eight different taps plus additional bottle pours, with cans and bottles available to go. Sometimes you'll find a tripel or pale ale pouring like my last visit, but otherwise prepare to choose between different variants of funky ales; they're quite good at that too. Pours are served either in smaller Willi glass or small flutes, with options for half pours. The menu is easy to read and gets straight to the point of what you can expect to taste; funky ales seem limitless with their tasting notes, so that's very helpful.
There's potential for Supermoon to grow to that next level. I like what I've had, and will look towards more visits in the future.

such a wonderful place, there is cool saison happening everywhere now, and it makes me really excited and happy, what a cool little establishment this is, so glad i found them when we were there in milwaukee, which has an awesome beer scene by the way. this place is in an old house, in the middle of a residential area, cool to slip a brewery in, wish they would do that in my neighborhood. inside its very quaint, picture windows up front, a little bar on the right and some seating in what looks like where the living room used to be, as well as in the back past the bar, perhaps an old family room or kitchen, very intentional but minimal esthetic, neat tap system, a little fireplace, and a little bit of out front seating, we were the only ones in there pretty much the whole time, very chill and mellow, the atmosphere fits the beer! they have an impressive array of saison-esque beers, and i was stoked on a biere de garde with coffee, subtle and clever, and also loved their oak fermented saison, sabro dry hopped table beer, and we ripped into a bottle of a real funky bretty one called yarn, all of them exceptional! even though they had a few other styles, this farmhouse space seems to be their honey hole. all of the beer was unique on the fermentation side, and the glassware and pours were beautiful, this stuff is way under the radar, but it shouldnt be. we had a great seat in the front window, and could have spent the day here. service was friendly and kind and took care to pour the beers just right. this was perhaps my favorite of the breweries we visited in the city, a little south of town in a cool neighborhood. i cannot recommend it highly enough, such a chill place to hang out and the beers are lights out! excited to see where they go from here!

Been going to this brewery from the early stages (when they had monthly walk-up releases and pop up beers) until now and have loved it all along the way. The taproom is now open and is just a great way to spend an afternoon. The space itself is setup nice to have a comfortable seat to enjoy some high quality beers. The beertenders have all been great; super friendly and able to speak about the beer available. The beer itself is very high quality; you can feel the passion and care that goes into each one. For me it's between Epitope, Barbou, Sensitive King and Oaxen for my favourite beer of theirs; and every so often some special single barrels get thrown on that are always a treat. Worth the visit and you go once and you'll want to come back often.

Supermoon is outstanding, not just in their niche of mixed-fermentation beers, but as a brewery experience as well. Everything is well considered and comfortable. The taproom is located in an old house, so it automatically has a built in coziness with a modern vintage flair. Bay View excels at that kind of atmosphere, and Supermoon has really made it look effortless. Decor included some interesting abstract geometric paintings on the walls, soft lighting, comfortable padded bar seats that recline slightly. Clean and simple decor, with amazing details like the red stone bar top of Brazilian Quartzite with intricate topographical patterns in it. Really cool stuff.
The bartender Eli was very knowledgeable and friendly, chatting at length about their beer and various topics. A brewer from Pilot Project came in, and we talked about their new space. They were also raving about the Supermoon beer Marbelle, a wild ale with Petite Pearl grapes and Montmorency cherries, that drinks almost like a natural red.
Beer selection had about 8 options and several more to-go, some were draft only exclusives. Quality was excellent, the barrel aged wild beers all had a lot of nuance, and I also loved their rye lager. They are currently working with a stock of around 40 oak barrels for blending.
Overall, Supermoon was a hidden gem in Bay View, and my favorite MKE brewery without a doubt. Make a priority to visit here if mixed-fermentation beers appeal to you, it was a really rewarding experience. I wish i'd spent the whole afternoon here.
