Draft: Poured a clear golden color ale with a nice large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy hops notes with some nice hoppy floral undertones is quite enjoyable. Taste is also a mix of nice hoppy floral undertones notes with some citrusy notes and light grapefruit notes with some hints of bitterness. Body is about average with good carbonation. Enjoyable IPA.

From a 473ml can, probably dated 04/08/19? if I’m deciphering the date stamp correctly. Served in a cervoise.

Pours a relatively lightly hazed, bright and cheerful honey-lemon-gold with two fingers of thick and creamy white foam. Retention is pretty good, leaving a fat collar and generous sheets of lacing.

Moderately robust, balanced nose of woodsy pine needles and sweet vanilla cookies... the aroma’s so interesting that I’ve almost forgotten to drink my beer.

The taste picks up right where the aroma leaves off - getting some pineapple and caramel sweetness at the start but then it’s woodsy pine needles and vanilla cookies all the way. Sweet and bitter in equal measure with a resinous finish.

Feel is sharp and drying, medium-plus bodied and well carbonated.

Nice. Technically, I think it may have been a little too sweet and be rotting my teeth but, despite a mild saccharine aftertaste, I found it to be quite tasty and, if I had another, I’d be opening it right now. That can was gone so fast that it couldn’t possibly have been full.

Serving: Can
Canned: Apr-8-2019 (Consumed Apr-18)

Pours a slightly hazy pale gold with a couple fingers of creamy head. Decent retention, moderate lacing. (4.25)

Orange rind, spicy hops, snickerdoodles, sappy. (4)

Resinous, spicy, citrus oil, piney/dirty bitter finish. (4)

Pretty dry active, slight hop shellac finish going on, fairly drinkable. (3.75)

A tasty IPA.
I don't know if it is quite the antithesis of their NEIPA, but I suppose it is close enough to it for government work. It pours looking nice, a little hazy still. The aroma and flavor both lean more towards a west coast IPA but additionally both have that lingering fruity sweetness from newer takes on the style. There is a big bracing piney bitterness present throughout that I enjoyed, however I personally prefer beers like this with a little less of the hop/residual sweetness that you get in the NEIPAs to make the bitterness snap a bit more. That said, I am splitting hairs. It is a nice, fruity-piney-earthy beer that hides its alcohol well and was not hard to drink. (4)

Look at that, an actual west coast IPA in this day and age.

A: Looks the part, it's a hazy yellow color with a pure white creamy looking head. Lacing is very good, as well as retention.

S: Strong dank, resinous notes with a good amount of flower orange and orange juice. Pine resin is quite strong too.

T: Super resinous with strong pine and floral notes. Orange juice is quite evident too. No malt presence at all. Straightforward and very well executed.

M: Medium body with medium to low smooth carbonation. A tiny bit too sticky but overall very well executed too.

O: Another very well executed IPA from BDN. Very impressed they could pull off a classic west coast IPA this well. Fresh, clean, resinous, fruity, dank.

Hops :Columbus, Centennial + a Double Dry Hop of Simcoe and Citra 76 IBU
Pours a lovely golden color with white head. Slightly hazy. Lots of retention.
Smells of piney hops and orange juice.
Quite a lot of bitterness but not sour. Very smooth with a dose of malty sweetness.
It goes down so easily you have to watch out for the 7.2 % abv!
Great summer beer near the pool.
