Look - 23rd beer of the 2021 Costco Advent Calendar. Poured into a standard pint glass. Orange-yellow in color, cloudy with some small floating particles, and small head that all dissipates, leaving virtually no lacing.

Smell - mead, toasted sugary bread, and yeast: actually quite pleasant.

Taste - lightly acidic and a bit of toasted malts. the low-level acidity lingers for a bit, which is followed by a hint of bitterness. finish is clean.

Feel - medium bodied (on the lighter end), high carbonation, and right on par in ABV for the style at 5.1%

Overall - a pretty tasty kellerbier that is lightly tart and clean on the palate.

A pint can emptied into a clear Imperial pint glass begins the procedure. The color scheme is of an obviously unfiltered amber. There's not much, check that, there's no head and there's no glass lacing. Is it partially opaque or partially translucent? The smell is hoppy and malty in an earthy way that's so common amongst good European brews. It drinks much more cleanly than its looks, but within the taste, there is that wonderful earthy balance of hops and malt. This is flavourful and drinkable. It should be expected that this specific style drinks a little more flavourful than most lagers and it does. Still, the light mouthfeel of a lager hurts the overall for it.

Yellow golden color with a .75" head that falls after one minute to a thin lacing.
Sweet malty bread notes with a touch of floral yeast notes and spice from the hops.
Leaves a ring of lace from the medium carbonation.
Has a medium light mouthfeel that leaves behind a spicey sweet aftertaste.
A nice session beer with a clean taste.
I found no evidence of wheat or wheat malt in this beer.

A: Pours a hazy medium honey in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate amounts of burnt orange + copper + apricot + peach + golden yellow + amber colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense creamy sudsy foamy beige head that slowly reduces to a handful of patches of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of cracker + bready + wheat malts with a light amount of grainy + honey sweetness. Just shy of moderate aromas of grassy + floral + spicy + very subtle citrus/orange hops. Light to moderate aromas of lager yeast.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of cracker + bready + wheat malts with a light amount of grainy + honey sweetness. That is followed by light to moderate flavors of lager yeast with a bit of minerality + black tea notes. Finally there are just shy of moderate flavors of grassy + floral + spicy + very subtle citrus/orange hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away relatively quickly leaving some light lingering cracker + wheat + yeast flavors.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly soft with a hint of slickness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol though a touch softer than I prefer for the mouthfeel. Enjoyable with good flavors and aromas.

Clean with all the right notes for a Keller beer. Might be my favorite Keller from the calendar. Prost!

500mL can stamped EXP 2023/05 poured into a becher glass at just above fridge temp 5.1% ABV. The beer pours hefe-hazy medium amber with off white head. The head recedes to a thin cap and leaves a web of lacing. The aroma is mild with pale malt, floral hops and yeast. The taste is semisweet pale malt with a hint of sulfur and floral hop bitterness. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation and a somewhat dry finish. Overall, good, not great. A little watery and there's more than a little diacetyl.

A: hazy burnt yellow and orange, with a hint of copper. Pours a 1/2 finger bright white head

S: lemongrass, grass, sweet grains. A hint of apple juice and lager spice. Faint citrus notes and earthy hops

T: sweet grains, hay, grass. Lemongrass and a lot of apple juice. Sweet citrus, and more grains. Cardamom and lager spice

M: lighter side of medium with low carbonation

O: I feel like this one is on the verge of going bad. Apple juice in the flavor doesn’t fit so I feel like it’s off putting

Poured a hazy straw colored hue - head dissipated rather quickly. Medium nose with traditional sweeter lager quality. Maltier taste with some hop bitterness finish. Nice mouthfeel.

I got a can of this beer from the Costco Beer advent calendar as the December 23rd offering. It poured a very slightly hazy golden with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had mild grain and finishing hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with good grain and hop presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Somewhat murky golden body with a full white head. Smells of euro macro malts base with flowers, german yeast, honey and grass dancing atop it. Taste has a sweeter edge with the malt and honey, otherwise the yeast and botanicals balance decently well, hint of lemon in there too. Feel is a bit bloated, especially as it warms, botanicals are light and airy but the malts are not. Don't need to have again but did enjoy this easy drinker

Slightly coppery orange body; quite hazy. Excellent head production and OK retention.

Aroma is spot on: slightly sweet, grassy, floral, with light notes of orange, tea, pepper, and honey.

Similar on the palate, translating a lot of flavor for the low ABV. Tea, honey, white bread, orange, pepper, pine. Not nearly as close to flawless, however, as the nose, as it's a little unbalanced, and there's a slight skunkiness to the flavor profile.

Slick and a bit sticky mouthfeel. Much bigger body than most beers at this ABV.

Taste: crisp, bready, slight sweet malts, yeasty, hint of stone fruit, airy and smooth finish. Refine, biscuit, light malty almost fruit nose. Amber color hue, white foam head with some head. Medium to light body. Tasty cellar lager.

Consumed 12/3/20
Brewer's Advent Calendar 2020 #2

Dark gold, some haze, pours with a medium-large white head, retains a small cap and leaves some nice lacing
Nicely grainy, with some pale grains, light bread, hints of bread crust, multigrain crackers, lightly grassy hops, floral notes, touch of minerality, low bitterness, a sweetness that is simultaneously grainy, fruity, and honey-like, does not warm up particularly well (originally gave it more than a 3.75 for taste)
On the light side of medium, smooth with a crisp finish, moderate carbonation

Now this is what I am talking about... A solid Zwickelbier from a brewery I have never heard of that I may never have again. I would actually buy this again if I saw it.

Cloudy orange brown.
Medium light carbonation with about a medium body has that thick feel that often shows up in wheat or oatmeal beer.
Aroma is orange fruit and peel, sugary malt, yeast, grain, flowery earthy honey.
Taste is a bit sweet with a feint amount of grainy sourness. Has a very small citrus peel/hop bitterness.
Overall its a really well made, flavorful beer with a nice body to match.

500ml can served in a big snifter. "EXP 2022/05"

Pours a clear amber-yellow with a big head that collapses down to a pretty nice ring and uniform thin layer about a millimeter thick. Smell is moderate lager yeast, grassy, and vague pine/lemon.

Taste is pretty intense, actually -- the lager yeast is there, but more of an accent, there's a strong grainy-honey sweetness, and a strong grassy bitterness. Yet nothing seems out of place.

Mouthfeel is light, smooth, and very dry. Overall, this is quite nice.
