he Cuvée des Trolls was created in 2000 in the tanks of microbrewery Le Brasse-Temps, which was established in Louvain-la-Neuve by Brasserie Dubuisson.

It is an unfiltered blonde beer with a natural cloud. The beer is produced using only yeast, malt, hops, sugar and water and has an alcohol volume of 7%.

Thanks to the addition of dried orange peel during the boiling process, the beer has very pleasant fruity aromas that are in beautiful harmony with its delicate, fully rounded taste.

A-Slightly hazy yellow-gold w/white head, good retention, slight amount of tracing. Best by Oct 8, 2010.

S-Pale malt, pear, banana, orange and lemon, coriander and spice, faint hops.

T-Yeast, spice, and pale malt upfront. Sweetness throughout w/notes of yellow fruit, but finish is nice and dry.

M-Prickly carbonation, lighter mouthfeel, on the sweet side but still decently-balanced thanks to dry hops in finish.

D-Good sipper, and the light body makes it dangerously easy to drink. This is a lighthearted brew w/nice fruit notes, and it won't kick your ass like a lot of other strong pales.

11.2 oz bottle date code G 4 29 1-16 into a tulip glass.
L: SRM 5 Bottle foams out a bit upon opening. Pours a lightly yeast hazed apricot gold color with steady churning carbonation and an actively growing pillowy & frothy white head with a large cap, very remarkable head retention, some dark yeast off the bottle bottom colors the cap, light soapy lacing. 3 slow pours to empty bottle.
S: Yeast, grains, light caramel malts, background fruits, a hint of apple.
T: Gently sweet grains, light citrus, orange, a hint of pale wheat, has wheat in the aftertaste and a hint of water crackers.
F: Very brisk, lightly juicy medium bodied feel with a fairly clean middle and a medium length finish that has a roast & lightly crisp drop-off and is gently drying.
O: Delicate and delicious. Lightly sweet and very well balanced. Retains its brisk feel quite well. Remarkably easy to drink and has very little aftertaste apart from light wheat notes. It is a lightly expressive Ale that is a nice everyday beer and it is lightly hopped for its style. It is very good.

Looks ok, kinda hazy with lace. Smells sugary with a touch of lemon. Pretty bready and sweet, but undercut by lemon zest and a bit of bubblegum yeast. Shout out to KingCobraJFS

On tap at Red Rock Cafe in Dunkirk, France.

I’ve never met a troll. Never thought about it. And here, in Cuvee, he’s ok. Like, he’s not weird or anti social; but he also doesn’t clear the 2 foot bong at the party. He’s invited to the party, but now the highlight of it.

Santè and stuff.

Pale yellow with a 1/2" white head, which lasts. light lacing. Slight haze, with suspended yeast particles.

Aroma is spicy, light citrus.

Taste is cloves, orange, Belgian yeast.

Medium body, lively carbonation. Dry finish.

Suspended yeast particles kept in suspension by lively carbonation makes it a bit unattractive. To be expected with a bottle conditioned beer. Otherwise, a very good beer.

Cloudy yellow. Dry bitter taste. Mouthfeel is foamy (quite carbonated) with a bittersweet aftertaste that stays a while. Which makes this more of slow drinker. Good beer.

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellowish amber in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with quarter finger high white head that left a thin film of bubbles on the surface and a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of Belgian yeast and pale malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of Belgian yeast along with notes of pale malts and a light amount of bitterness. There are also some hints of orange citrus towards the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and is somewhat crisp with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The hops in this beer seem to be a little muted but I liked the aromas and flavors of Belgian yeast.
