Pours a slightly unclear yellow with fine, quickly dissipating foam.

Smell is very fruity with pears, esters, yeast and Sevile orange making an almost cider like smell.

Taste is also very fruity, again almost cider like. A lot of aples and pears and a bit of yeast. Very easy to drink for the ABV.

Mouthfeel is medium with fairly high carbonation.

Overall, a very refreshing Belgian, that is almost too easy to drink. Could sneak up on you...

Brasserie Dubuisson "Cuvée Des Trolls"
330 ML brown glass bottle coded "27/10/2017 D 3 17 6 10:34"

Notes via stream of consciousness: How odd, the bottle I just poured foamed up with a three-finger thick head while the one last night went nice and easy. Maybe I was just a little too rough, or hit the glass at a bad angle. ... OK, it's settled to a pillowy white head of about a finger and a half thick now, so that's good. The body is a cloudy yellow that looks almost orangeish in the full glass. The aroma is yeasty with sweetish malt, displaying some apple, orange, something akin to white grape juice, and light spice. The flavor follows but it's much brighter. The malt is sweeter as well, but some graininess remains. Orange, apple, a hint of lemon, the white grape, peach, banana, subtle spice with perhaps some clove, and mildly herbal notes all dance around each other. A moderate to median bitterness keeps everything in line and it finishes drying with some light citrus, a hint of vanilla, banana, and soft spice and herbs lingering. That might make it sound like it's really rich and full but it's actually not, it's only medium-light in body and it's overall fairly mild, it's just fairly complex as well. Which is actually a good thing for a Belgian pale ale, you want to drink it, not spend an afternoon with it - leave that for the quads. Looking back it's maintained a thin but solid surface covering, and there's some decent lacing. It's very drinkable, and I'm surprised at how nuanced it is. Worth trying.

A: pours with a frothy, thick, three finger head golden amber body, appears well attenuated.
S: Apple cider, white wine/blanc grapes, subtle hints of sweet malt and an even more understated boozy warmth, some hints of peach as well.
T: an interesting immediate marriage of biscuity malt and mild tartness, followed by apple notes, and a very mild bitterness, hints of stone fruit
M: very dry
O: A very crisp and enjoyable beer that I will definitely be buying again, at points like drinking sparkling apple juice, my only complaint is that I wish it were a tad less sweet. A nice offering, you should definitely try it.

From Optimus Beer. InbTeku glass. After dinner. In Roquetas de Mar. In shaker glass. Overcarbonated. Light sourness at first but dissipates quickly. Fruity notes to lemon, orange, white grapes mixed with belgian yeast notes

330 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before 2/27/2017. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy medium golden yellow color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lemon, orange peel, peach, pear, apricot, apple, coriander, white pepper, honey, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big lemon, orange peel, peach, pear, apricot, apple, coriander, white pepper, honey, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate yeast spiciness and light herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange peel, peach, pear, apricot, apple, coriander, white pepper, honey, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Moderate drying from yeast spiciness and carbonation, increasing through the glass. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 7%. Overall this is a very nice Belgian pale ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, and quite refreshing to drink with the balanced spicy/drying finish. Great well rounded yeast/hop complexity; with a nice balancing malt backbone. Never overly prickly/foamy on carbonation. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Not bad but was left searching for more flavor. There was a sour note that was surprising, but not off-putting. Very yeasty flavor, as many belgians tend to have.

There must be some characteristics of the water that just makes Belgian brews unique. It works to the advantage of this nice ale.

It pours a nice rich golden color with just a bit of fizz and a fair amount of haze. Nice haze. The aroma is a yeasty warning of the taste that will follow - a twangy, yeasty boozy taste. I need to make appoint of trying their bigger ones.

The overall experience is a unique, flavorful, Belgian taste that totally works. Recommended, and I want to try the special and trippel.
