Starting with the brewery's Scaldis Blond, which then gets aged for six months in oak barrels that had previously stored Chateau de Meursault Charmes Premier Cru Burgundy white wine barrels.

750 ml bottle into a tulip snifter. 2018 edition, had 3/18/23.

Pours a hazy golden orange, with a two inch foamy head with good retention and a fair amount of foamy lacing. Aromas of white wine, spices, white pepper, malt, apple, light oak. Has an herbal aroma. The flavors are mostly similar: white wine, spices, wheat, white pepper, malt, some apple and oak. Smooth, dry- more so on the finish, a solid medium body, well carbonated.

A brilliant beer. The white Burgundy barrels are delicious, and the base beer is terrific. The seemingly higher level of spiciness really enhanced the flavor, as well. Really enjoyable, would buy this again.

Great bottle foreshadows what is to come. Pours clear golden-orange with lots of fine carbonation and a perfect two-inch creamy, frothy head. Never ending bubbles. Beautiful beer!

Hugely aromatic with prominent floral, spicey highlights, apple and pear, followed by oak and white wine.

Flavor is no surprise after the aroma. Rich and complex driven by spicey white pepper, toasted oak, wine notes, dried apricot, apple, lemon peel and earthy, floral aspects. Bitterness relatively mild and a good compliment.

Rich medium body beer with stellar conditioning. Finishes dry and long-lasting.

Such complexity and balance in a perfectly conditioned and beautiful beer. A new favorite.

Poured from 750 mL bottle into snifter. 2018 vintage.
A: Pours a clear orange-yellow hue with moderately active carbonation jets fueling a 2 inch frothy/bubbly white head with excellent retention.
S: A wonderful mix of fruit, floral, and spice notes. Honey, orange, cinnamon, toasted oak, candi sugar, Chardonnay grapes, and a hint of vanilla and almond. Lovely!
T: Wow! Follows aroma and adds to it. Honey, warm cinnamon, toasted oak, vanilla, orange, pear and hints of white pepper, banana, earth herbal mint, and floral notes. Layer upon layer of complexity that all works seamlessly together. Perfection!
M: Medium body. Foamy/creamy feel with light effervescence. Sweet fruit and floral notes balanced with barrel aging elements of oak/vanilla/white grapes...all in perfect balance. Hints of earthy spices. Lingers and matures nicely on the palate.
D: Wow! This one completely blew me away! The base beer is nicely constructed and the barrel aging with the white Burgandy barrels was a masterstroke. Seek it out if you can!
