Notes:
A Beer Tape (BeerThugLife + Hip Hop Craft) + Death Row Records collaboration. This West Coast IPA is iconic to craft beer lovers from around the world, just like Death Row records is to West Coast Hip Hop. Death Row Records' 30th Anniversary IPA is a full-bodied beer with notes of citrus, pine and grapefruit. The honey sweetness of the malt blends perfectly with the resinous hops. Clocking in at 7% ABV, fans will find it to be the perfect beer to drink while listening to all of their classic tracks. Cheers!

When you turn thirty, you throw a party. -a big, bitter, dry and fruity party. That's what Death Row Records seeks to do with an IPA that gets back to bitter basics in an old school way.
Moderately hazy with hops, Death Row West Coast IPA's racy pour yields a bubbly demeanor with releasing a frothy white cap. With the straight forward scent of spruce, citrus and spice, the nose tingles with peppery greens and light potpourri. But its the malts that have their say first with a caramelized and nutty upstart that's redolent with graham cracker.
But the hops step in quickly for a citrusy taste of pink grapefruit, dried pineapple and orange peel for a bright and breaming balance. A quick rebuttal of bitterness has the beer trending dry, crisp and refreshing with a gin-like spice that's piney, peppery and grassy with the slight suggestions of peppery greens of arugula, juniper and kale.
Medium bodied and trending decidedly dry, the beer's arid hop nature certainly seems "west-coast" drive as a bitter grip to the gullet ensures a seriously hoppy session with a long and resinous aftertaste.

Certainly full bodied, however I get a smokey hint in the flavor. A good beer, not the best IPA ever, nor the worst.
