This beer was resurrected by head brewer Chad Reiker from a family recipe handed down to him by his grandmother. Last brewed in Lancaster at the Reiker Star brewery about 90 years ago, this schwarzbier is very drinkable and a delight. Pouring slightly flattish in the glass (at least mine was), it's deep brown and maltily aromatic. Nicely attenuated, it's dry and well balanced throughout.
