A classic porter, dark and full of roasted malt flavor. Chocolate notes are well balanced by a slight bitterness.

The beer pours a dark brown color with a thick offwhite head that fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a grainy dark malt scent that boasts of black patent and crystal malts. The taste is good as well. It has a dry, dark malt flavor that boasts of chocolate and roasted malts; very nice. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a full bodied beer with adequate carboation. This is a good porter. It has good flavor and aroma; a good drinker.

Fresh growler pour into a 16 oz nonic pint glass. Look is deep, dark brown, almost black. Khaki head pours thick and eventually falls to a ring. Some lacing in the glass, but falls out fairly quickly. Smell is roasted malt, some coffee and cocoa, perhaps a bit of earthy hops. Taste follows smell with roasted barley malt dominating, however there is a fairly sweet coffee and cream finish with a pleasant aftertaste. Feel is medium bodied with a prickly carbonation. Overall, this is a a flavorful and substantive porter. Getting it fresh from the brewery is a plus.

After Christmas trip to Bethlehem and Philly. 12/27/22
The downtown location of Iron Hill Brewery. Very fun... Window seats!
This a decent porter. Nothing special to note, just good and drinkable. A little light on the color and mouthfeel. Slight carbonation and roasty cocoa is the dominate flavor.

Poured from a hand pump at Iron Hill Exton. The lack of CO² makes this beer creamy and smooth like an English porter. The minimal head was a chocolate brown, and the roasted barley flavor really stands out.
I've never before had it on a hand pump and it may be a new go-to.

Drinks like your typical porter above avg but poles to some of the more solid porters on the market. Nog one to avoid, but not one that would become a go-to either.

Had it on tap at the brewery in Montgomeryville, in a funked up, tulipy pint glass.
L---Deep brown. Opaque. Medium head with ok lacing and no real retention.
S---Chocolate & coffee are dominant. Some vague maltiness.
T---Mostly coffee & chocolate. Didn't get the advertised toffee. Still, pretty tasty.
F---Not as thick as I was expecting. Crisp, with more hoppiness than I would expect for the style.
O---Pretty good, but nothing special. I would have another , if you were buying.

Split a growler and it had all the classic porter characteristics with lots of roasted malt flavors, toasted grains, caramel, a dash of piney notes, and hints of chocolate. Typical looks as well with that dark brown hue that looked reddish near the edge of the glass and minimal lacing. Smooth and tasty with a light bitterness, it was a perfect afternoon session brew.
