Ooo, what's this? Why, it's old notes discovered while cleaning. Let's see what they say...

This beer came a bright copper amber color with a thin collar of off white.

Smells of big chewy biscuit dough and some flowery celery with a spritz of lemon juice.

Starts with a bitter numbing sting that gives way to toasty caramel and white flour. This is rounded off with a ever-so-slight grape fruit rind on the sides of my tongue and a touch of wild flowers. This fades to a light pine hop finish with a nice dry earthiness.

Feels very light and clean with a quiet zip of carbonation.

This was on-tap at the North Wales, PA Iron Hill location around 11/1/2008. The bartender said that it was around 5% to 6% ABV. I decided to take this one home with me in one of their 64 oz. growlers.

When poured into a Stoudt's pint glass, out of the growler comes a Lager that was a dark honey amber color. On top of this dark amber beer was a creamy 3/4 of an inch off white colored head of foam. This head had great retention that left behind foamy white rings and a spot or two of lace. The aroma was plain and simple. Nothing special going on in the nose. It had a simple malty aroma of toasted malts, a hint of sweet caramel, and a small touch of fruity hops. The taste was like the smell, plain and simple. The taste started off malty with toasted malts and a splash of caramel. After the caramel leaves the tongue, the taste then goes dry and lightly fruity with juicy fruits and fruity hops. Not a bad taste, but there just wasn't much there. This was a light bodied Lager with a dry toasted aftertaste of toasted malts, a hint of caramel, and a touch of fruity hops. This beer was just another session Lager. Nothing more than that. A growler of this beer was more than enough.
