On tap at Maple Shade's Barrels, Bourbon and Bugs event. From the menu: "Brewed with chocolatier Mike Collins of Reily's Candy in Medford, NJ. A rich, malty brown ale brewed with generous amounts of dark chocolate and roasted cocoa nibs to give it a distinct chocolatey character. Aged in a used bourbon barrel for 3 months."

Pours a murky dark amber-brown with a creamy tan head that settles into a thin collar. Aroma is sweet and mildly boozy, dominated by chocolate and roast cocoa with subtle fruity bourbon notes. Flavor is malty and boozy, similar to nose with chocolate in the forefront and the bourbon barrel adding a slight fruit sweetness to the finish. Medium thick body, syrupy on the palate with fine carbonation. One of the better treatments from this event.
