Poured from the bottle into a wheat ale glass.

Classic unfiltered appearance, but with also quite a bit of an orange color to it, along with classic lemon yellow. Some nice fine carbonation, but hardly anything for a head formation. Fainting one finger head of off white, settles to a thin puck and collar.

Clean nose, but also quite light and fruity. Nice ester of orange and lemon oil on the aroma, with some hints of soft grain. Small hints of sweet cookie dough as well but it's pretty tiny but makes for a different experience. Quite nice and a little unique.

Palate is very impressive. Juicy and quite a good thick and chewy body, that has a real nice big creamy texture. That texture just amplifies and coats the flavors real nicely. First sip is dense mixes of orange and lemon fruit, with some sweet banana. Spicy herbal finish and tang of an almost peach like sweet fruity quality flavor aftertaste. Hints of thick cream as well nearly hints at vanilla with a great complimenting banana ester also.

What a delicious refreshing hefe, would definitely score this again if I could.

a: hazy burnt caramel, orange, and yellow color. pours a 1 finger solid slightly off-white head. head is a little bit small for what i'm used to with hefeweizens, but thats not really a problem

s: ripe pear, banana, clove, green apples, tons of wheat, lemongrass, some sweet malts, and a little bubble gum to finish

t: ripe bananas, sweet caramel, wheat, light fruity esters - pears and green apple skin, and a hint of clove

m: medium mouthfeel. carbonation level is fitting of the style, but a little less than some of the great ones

o: i'm a fan of Ramstein beers, but this one has a nicer aroma than taste. the taste isn't bad at all - its just missing that little something extra that makes the classics great. it could use a little more of the fruity bubble gum flavor, along with some more clove. that said its not a bad beer, i think it just falls a little short. really nice for a hot day though

This beer is very hazy and darker than ld expect. Almost orange. I was worried because there was very little head and the smell was a bit too yeasty but the flavor is nice. Everything you'd expect from a hefe - yeast, wheat, spice, light banana. A nice local beer. nb

Date: July 19, 2015... Glassware: Weihenstephan wheat... Occasion: recovering from the nine family party with a Sharktopus vs. Whalewolf viewing... Appearance: Begins with a two-finger white head that thins swiftly; an opaque, hazy yellow body that erupts in effervescence; zero tracings in the glass.... Aroma: lemon, clove and a bit of pepper make for an inviting profile; light malts suggest a balanced blond... Palate: smooth, medium-bodied, and with a bit of fizziness...drinkable and sessionable, but not nuanced or textured... Taste: clove, pepper, and malts are a flavorful treat, with a medium-bodied impact and indeed a balanced wheat; the apple/banana arrives at the end of the sip.... Overall: a refreshing, substantial hefeweizen that kept me quenched during a HOT summer afternoon....

Notes from a tasting on 3/24/15

This is a well carbonated pale yellow with too much haze to see through. The head is a fizzy one with a bit more to it, just a little more than white. Retention is just above average, as is some thin lacing sticking around.
It's hard to get a real impression of this beer. It's not standard, exactly, and it's not that it's exceptionally weak. It's just kind of hard to pinpoint. The wheat is very much there, but yeast brings out more earth, fruits (some skins) and spiciness than anything.
The flavor is soft and primarily wheat, leading into a grainier undertone. Some fruits carry through, but this beer doesn't have what makes either a non-German wheat beer or a hefe stand out. That doesn't mean it isn't pretty nice.
The feel is very soft, and it's quite fluffy on the palate. Spicing definitely shows as much in the feel as the aroma or flavor. It can only hold a moderate crispness, though. The finish is pretty nice, with the yeast notes I want lingering.

Pours overcarbonated and almost foaming to no end. Aroma was the best part as it carried German yeast and wheat. The flavor was just bad, banana and hop concentrate but harsh. Not infected, just over carbed. The body was like drinking foam out of a straw. Terrible. This was bad all around and never should have left the brewery. Drain pour.

Pours a big, aggressive head, easily two fingers and comes close to pouring over, looks whipped up and delicate, off-white cream color, hard to judge the lacing since there’s not much surface space left to stick to. Fuzzy and opaque dark gold to orange hued liquid, maelstrom of bubbles inside, you definitely see where the head came from. The nose clearly offers up yeast, raw dough, banana and even bubblegum before stiffens into pepperiness and cloves, earthy in a clean manner, doesn’t express much fruit, you get more by way of white grapefruit. In the mouth it’s medium-bodied but very firm, the carbonation gives it more slow churn than prickle. On the dry side, can’t accuse it of excess sweetness. But, again, the banana and yeast is a clear element. Almost minerally at times, the wheat seems unprocessed and closer to an unpicked state. More apricot and peach present here, cherry even. The clove and nutmeg notes do not bring much sweetness. Too dense to be refreshing about it has character and is likely best suited as meal accompaniment than consumed on its own.

Solid Hefeweizen overall. Typical yeast profile for a Hefe. Slightly overcarbonated with a very large head. Subtle clove and wheat aromo with hints of bannana. Very great wheat taste which also gives rise to bannana an clove flavor as well.

Picked up a 6-pack straight from the brewery. Golden in color and cloudy. Medium sized head and nice retention resulting from a ton of carbonation. Aroma and flavored are loaded with banana and bubble gum, the latter of which can be a bit cloying at times. Prominent yeast profile. Light to medium bodied. Overall, a solid hefe.
