500 ml bottle, as Kloster Scheyern Kloster-Export Dunkel , from Rewe Getränkemarkt, Erding. ABV is 5.4%. Mahogany coloured beer, moderate off-white to beige head. Moderate aroma of brown bread. The flavour is moderately malty with notes of caramel and brown bread, but it is not too sweet. Just enough hops to make this a fairly well-balanced and drinkable dunkel.

L- Filtered, so no sediment to worry about stirring up. Pours very deep chestnut, clear, with 5mm pale tan fine-bubble head. Holds very well and forms lacing down the sides of the glass.
S- Mild, just a hint of rich malts.
T- The taste follows the smell, rich toasted malts with a balancing element of dry hops.
F- It's very well carbonated in the mouth which adds to it's sense of dry/lightness. Which to me leaves a sense of imbalance of a flavour under-supported by sufficient ABV%.
O- There is nothing prominently wrong to note here, just as^ IMHO it's under-powered to have optimal balance.
500ml bottle BB: 12/05/2020. My bottle, bought in the UK, shows the ABV as 5.0%

This is not my style but I am trying to broaden my horizons.
Pours a dark ruby red colour with a three finger off-white head which recedes to a 1cm foam after a couple of minutes.
Dark malt character is there on nosing, with some burnt caramel.
On tasting the same honey flavour that is present in the Helles is here along with dark roasted malt and a slight burnt treacle flavour. Root beer is also lurking in the background. Nice.
Another fine beer from Kloster Brau, glad I tried it.

Pours a dark brown, ember color, completely clear, with a small, stable head.
Smells of roasted, toffee infused malts, together with a whiff of caramel and wood bark.
Has a medium, but lively carbonation, providing a convincing freshness to the otherwise creamy mouthfeel.
Tastes of toffee glazed malts, together with a note of honey and earth. Earth turns more prominent, due to bakers chocolate and wood infused coffee, not turning particularly bitter, while the taste developes a nice depth.
Very malty, slightly sweet with a pleasantly soft mouthfeel, exhibiting a decent note of honey and wood.

500 ml bottle, bought in Germany. Poured into a lager glass.
Colour is light brown and transparent, looks like a watered down cola. Two fingers of off-white, soapy head but with not so good retention. No lacing left on the glass.
Light aroma of roasted malts. Not bad but nothing exceptional either.
Taste is better, again of course roasted malts, but this timetraces of chocolate flavours too.
Thin body, average carbonation. Quite dry on the palate, with a long finish.
Overall, yes, this was a nice tasty beer with high drinkability.
