Kloster Scheyern is definitely a good example of Bavarian Weissbier. It's a hazy light yellow with very creamy head and good retention. The smell is dominated by wheat on the first whiff, but a second and third try reveal banana as well. Banana lingers in the mouth as well, with almost no hop bitterness. It's very light bodied and incredibly easy to drink! This is one that I go back to very often.

Classic hazy amber yellow colour, with thick foamy white head. Looks nice.

Banana bread on the nose as you would expect, peppery scent also.

Very refreshing, does not have the body of a regular weisse beer. Just not much going on. Still a good beer, just not great. One of those beers that would be great after a long walk or cycle that you can chuck down and order another.

Pile of white foam over cloudy dark gold. 4.25
Banana chips and dough starter. 4
Cracker, lemon peel, bready middle, touch of banana, then just fades away… 3.5
Light, round, smooth. 3.75

Dies at the end, and watery - not as creamy as it should be. Low on banana and clove, too. Dumbed down weiss. 3.75

A: Hazy yellow, rich foam.

S: Nothing too attractive. Cloves, lemon, banana.

T: Sour, very carbonated, lemony, much like orange-soda, banana, vanilla.

M: Similar to Franziskaner Weissbier, but even more sour and watery.

O: Average Hefeweizen, nothing too exciting and nothing offensive. Similar to Franziskaner, but nowhere near to the best beers of this style. Refreshing, though.

A very simple, straightforward example of a German wheat beer. Nose is subdued compared to many of the top versions, just mild esters and spice, but very clean. Taste is similar, nothing bold or striking, but good clean flavor profile. Classic, but muted. The kind of beer you could sit back and drink all day, but falls short of being special or memorable.

Pours golden, not too hazy, huge fluffy white head that just won't go away.
Smell of wheat, hay, some banana and strong clove. Adequate, but a bit bland.
A lot more banana in the tasty, some yellow apple and pear, touch of oranges, but not too fruity, overencumbered quickly by wheaty malts and white bread dough. Strongly spiced with clove. Very low bitterness, pretty hard to taste any hops.
Kinda heavy bodied, creamy, low to medium carbonation, one the thicker side of weizens.
Sacrifices flavor for wheaty richness, not my favourite type of hefeweizen. Good, but i'll probably find better ones to choose from.

Opalescent green, with an ugly white foam full of holes.
Pouring the yeast, it becomes a bit darker.
In the smell a lot of cloves, very phenolic, almost band-aid. After that, all the classic weizen flavour.
Same for the taste. Aboslutely phenolic.
Standard body.
Again phenolic aftertaste.
