Honestly, there's just not much to say about this beer. It is boring, and bland. I have come to expect more from Bear Republic. I see what they were going for here, but why? I got this in a row of samplers at the brewery and this one just disappeared.

On-tap at Hollingshead's on to the beer:
As the naem suggests, it's gold in color, with a frothy white head on top. The aroma is mostly toasted grain and a snap of floral hops. The taste starts grainy, but turns very floral. The biterness of this beer is moderate, not much hop flaovr expect for the floralness it provides. There's a touch of pine, and many minerals can be tasted in this beer, probably from the water used to make this beer.
I wouldn't have guessed this to be a sub-4% beer, though that might explain the thin maltiness in this lager. The floral flavor takes some getting used to.

Appearance This one is a light, hazy yellow in color with a good head.
Smell The aroma here is stiff and grainy with a faint sense of hops, almost like a German Pilsner.
Taste The flavor here is straight lagered American grain with a bit of grassy hop balance.
Mouthfeel This is of course light-bodied. The one thing that I look for in this style is big, huge carbonation, and this one doesnt disappoint.
Drinkability This flavor wont knock your socks off but the body and carbonation are right on.

Draught @ Papago
The beer after its pour from the tap sets in the glass a limpid amber color with the head modest in size and a semi-creamy off white color, the resultant lace a thin but concealing sheet. Nose is the prototypical sweet malt, fresh and clean, start sweet with a nice malt presence, the top light to moderate in feel. Finish is pleasantly acidic; the hops mild and pleasing to the palate, the aftertaste dry and clean, a nice session beer with its relatively low ABV, certainly worth a sample.

Tap@Bear republic Brewpub. Gees, they make such great beer, so i guess this was a surprise, just a bland, slightly cleaner Mexican lager or something, i don't know why they brew it as only saw it at the brewpub while in Californian. Maybe its a popular choice their or something???
