When brewed before this came in at 9.5%, but this was up on the board as 8.5% so perhaps the recipe has changed a bit. On-tap @ the brewpub, served in a generic tulip.

Peach/amber-orange liquid - very cloudy with a thin ivory collar and slick. Ornate albeit thin lacing. Average retention.

Very fresh aromatics indicative of a young yeast perhaps? Light esters suggest over-ripe pears - plenty of sugary malt as well.

Quite sweet palate entry: honey, fruit syrup and malt syrup all hit you before a moderate bitterness comes forward to provide a modicum of balance. Yeast seems ill-suited to this style as it reminds me more of their American beers. I'm not sure if they are using a different strain here...

Medium-light bodied but somewaht flacid.

Pairs well with food, but is a bit cloying and dull on its own.
