Style: American Double / Imperial IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 9.75%

Notes / Commercial Description:
Café Racer 15™ features aromas of bright citrus and resinous pine from the generous use of Citra, Amarillo, Cascade and Chinook hops which are complimented by a dry malt finish. The result is a high revving Double IPA that is loud and assertive, much like the rebellious street racers who inspired it. Never ride alone...

Undated bottle into pint glass. Pours a hazy deep (almost brownish) amber with a coarse off-white head. Initial impression is a very juicy explosion of fruity flavors: grapefruit, melon, orange, lemon, peach, apricot, pine, and floral notes. Mouthfeel is nice and sticky. Carbonation is perfect. Finish is sticky, fruity, and sweet. Quite, quite good.

Poured out a clear, golden color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of toasted caramel, pine and citrusy notes. It tasted of bitter piney hops with a citrus burst. Nice caramel sweetness.

I've wanted to try Racer X for a decade, but stumbled upon this one.

Nice pour, good retention and lace. Seriously impressive for a brew of this size.

Aromas of tangerine and nectarine, with some sweetness, hop candy?

Piny resin is up front and always dominant, some nectarine, tangerine, with plenty of sponge toffee on the finish. Assertive bitterness, but the sweetness still comes through. Alcohol is subtle.

It has some residual sweetness for a fairly full body.

More of a barleywine?

L - bright yellow/ citrus orange color. 1/2 finger of head that dissipates, but leaves behind some sticky lacing all over the glass and top of the brew

S - Huge citrus hop aroma. Big malty backbone. Perfect aroma balance

T - Huge bitter Hop bite and finish. Well balanced with a huge malty kick. Lots of oranges, tangerine, grapefruit. Very tasty!

F - medium carbonation, full body

O - Awesome DIPA. Best beer I have had by Bear Republic. Definitely one to look for again

Hazy golden orange with two fingers of five minute head. Great amount of fine bubble lace.
Smell rich bready malt and hop oil resins.
Taste is rich malt with strong hop presence. Fruity resinous bitter hops.
Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Finish is dry and bitter.
Overall a big rich and tasty beer.

Pours a clear orange color with a 1 finger off white head that oddly turns into loose soap suds.

Smells of heavy orange zest, grapefruit and faint malts.

Taste mimics the nose. Very crisp and clean. Fairly balanced but the hops shine.

Mouthfeel is medium. Soft carbonation makes this an easy drinker. Super quafable and dangerous.

Another well crafted, delicious hoppy offering from Bear Republic. It is not cheap but the quality justifies the cost. Recommended. Would love to try this on tap.

This beer pours a slightly hazy pale gold with a solid head. The aroma is very bold, with guava, sticky pineapple, caramel, passionfruit, pink grapefruit, mango, and cannabis. The flavoris equally vibrant, with lots of tropical fruits - pineapple, mango, guava, passionfruit, and finishing bracingly bitter with a woodsy caramel bite. The mouthfeel is very full, with lots of fizzy sharp carbonation. Overall this is a magnificent beer - pungent and fruity, but with a huge bitter core, and no slouch in the malt flavors either. It has a bit of everything.
